Situated centrally in a busy local setting, walking distance from all the sights of Stone Town Town, our home provide a friendly base for exploring the social and cultural life of Zanzibar from a personal perspective and off the beaten track.
The house is defined by a cosy, rustic and traditional decor. The blues walls, the concrete floors, the wooden doors and the traditional, handmade furniture makes a simple yet confortable, relaxed and authentic space.
All guest are welcome to use the shared facilities including kitchen (fridge, cooker, utensils) sitting room, porch, small back yard and of course bathroom and toilet. I offer pick-ups, drop-offs and general taxi services (my car fits 7 people) and I gladly provide assistance, advice and contacts for getting around, exploring the city and organizing trips, excursion or stays at the different beaches around Zanzibar. Laundry services are also available on request.
As this is my home, I will be present during visitors' stay (unless otherwise is agreed). I respect the privacy of my guests and always try to make them feel as much at home as possible. If the interest is mutual, I enjoy spending time with my visitors, sharing stories and experiences potentially over a drink or a meal.
I have a small guesthouse in Stone Town which I like to call The Blue House.
I like to meet people from around the world and enjoy learning about different places and ways of living. I have worked 15 years in tourism and hospitality in many different places in Zanzibar. I like to spent my free time hanging out with friends, playing football, swimming and playing karata and bao (local card and board games) with a group of retired men.
