This proud home is a comfortable home to relax in and is located in a very walkable neighborhood in the center of Houston. It's situated near the corner of Fairview and Hopkins Street, the home of the famous Barnaby's restaurant and Baby Barnaby's. Fairview cuts east/west through Montrose and has many restaurants and bars. Additionally, as Houston has no zoning, restaurants and bars are sprinkled through the neighborhood. Weekends can be lively here especially, but the apartment is located in the center of the city block so street noise is minimized.
- On site parking for 1 car
- Shared laundry room availability. Notify host for access
- 2nd floor apartment access via outside stairs. No elevator.
Retired chemical engineer interested in historic preservation. Led effort that prevented demolition of the 1956 Sylvan Beach Pavilion by successfully listing it on the National Historic Registry (NHR), State of Texas Archeological Landmark (SAL), and a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark (RTHL). The SAL listing resulted in securing a federal grant to restore the pavilion to its 50's glamour. Ted also successfully nominated the Houston Astrodome to the NHR and SAL that should see this iconic building be open to the public again soon. Ted's other interests include spending time with his family that includes 2 grandsons, working on his antique cars and home repair and restoration, including the 9 year restoration of a abandoned 100 year old home on Galveston Bay and recently completing a 3 year complete restoration of a 1915 Houston Montrose home.
