Murray Hill Home - Walk to Downtown

Beautiful, family-friendly 4-bedroom home in Annapolis.

Our beautifully-appointed home pays homage to the Colonial Period. It comfortably sleeps 9 adults in four bedrooms and can accommodate additional guests with an air mattress or kid mattresses. There are 2.5 baths. It boasts elegant dining and living rooms. Enjoy the quiet street and an easy stroll to downtown Annapolis.

The house has a large, well-stocked kitchen that is great for aspiring chefs and bakers. It's large enough to serve as a gathering place, too, while meals are prepared. We try to ensure the pantry has sundries and essentials. The dining room seats up to 8 to feast on the culinary pursuits undertaken in the kitchen. We can arrange for additional tables and seating if needed. The living room harks back to the bygone colonial days with relics and furnishings of that departed era. It has a piano, a stereo, jigsaw puzzles, and games. In the winter, the roaring fireplace crackles and quickly thaws any cold fingers and toes. The bedrooms are spacious, furnished with comfortable beds and new linens, and have flat-screen televisions. There is a Roku player in 3 of the bedrooms so you can stream and there is a DVD player in the fourth bedroom complete with a DVD collection. The kids' bedroom also a closet of toys and bookshelf full of children's book. There is a washer and dryer available for your use in the basement.

The house is centrally located so that you can go car-free for your stay and explore Annapolis on foot - unless, of course, you prefer the free Annapolis Circulator Trolley that stops at the end of the street or the water taxi that can whisk you away in unique style (during peak season only).

The owners grew up in Maryland's capital, so they can provide endless advice on where to go, what to do, and how best to enjoy America's sailing capital. You can easily walk to the charming brick-lined streets of historic downtown-- where you can stroll along City Dock, watch boaters strut their stuff on Ego Alley, take the kids to battle pirates on the Sea Gypsy, captain your own boat, rent a canoe or a kayak or a paddle board, go on a walking tour or a ghost tour, take a trolley or Segway tour, or dine waterfront.

Or maybe you want to see what it's like to be a midshipman. Visit the Naval Academy and take a tour.

Still looking for things to do? Maybe art and culture is your thing. There are 25 fine art galleries within walking distance of downtown. Additionally, galleries and museums offer classes and sponsor year-round musical and performing arts events. Want free fine art? Who doesn't?! The Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Gallery at St. John's College is the only accredited fine arts museum in the area and admission is zippo, nada, nothing.

Festivals and events abound in Annapolis. In-season sailboat races every Wednesday night...the First Sunday Arts Festival (free! and running through October) is an arts and craft show featuring 100 local and regional artists with live music, dance, street performers, food, and more... county fairs... seafood festivals... sail and powerboat shows... lights on the Bay... and this is to name just a few.

We'd love to host you and help you plan your stay.

Please note that higher prices apply for one-night rentals and event weekends, such as Commissioning week, boat shows, USNA Homecoming, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and similar. The calendar may not reflect higher prices during these weekends, so please do inquire. We also require a two-night minimum stay between May and October. Thanks.

We enjoyed our stay in Barbara's beautiful home. It's in a great location - a pleasant walk into town and a quiet neighborhood - and the house was very clean and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. Barbara was very easy to deal with and quick to respond to any questions.

Great stay

Simply perfect, highly recommend. My coworkers and I stayed at Barbara's home for the weekend to attend the Women's March on Washington. This house is absolutely amazing. Spacious yet cozy, super clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed - plenty of blankets, towels, and a kitchen stocked with all the dishware you would need. Check in and checkout were a breeze with the key in the lock box. Barbara was available and promptly responded when needed. Barbara also has a house manual that included everything needed for the stay - where to find things around the house, additional amenities (board games), and plenty of suggestions of paces to eat and things to do. Uber is very accessible and things were also within walking distance - we unfortunately did not have much time to explore. I wish we could have stayed longer, a weekend was not enough - I hope to stay here again in the future! Thank you Barbara :)!

We really loved this house. It's in a quiet neighborhood, but close to all the Annapolis restaurants and shopping. We were there for Christmas, and the decor of the house really made us feel like we were in an old-time Christmas movie. Everything was perfect with the house, great beds and bedroom, well provisioned kitchen - we cooked Christmas dinner there -, and the living and dining rooms were ideal. We'll be back!

Very nice house with a lot of personality. Walking distance to breakfast a bars. Barb was very responsive and helpful.

Host was friendly, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. House had plenty of room, comfortable beds, and in a pleasant neighborhood. Great spot to spend a weekend in Annapolis!

Barbara and her house were both great! We were in town for a wedding over a weekend and the house is very roomy and an easy walk or short drive into town! Barbara was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, would definitely stay here again!
