Recently remodeled (January 2017), comfy one-bedroom "Ranch House" in a country setting on creek-crossed acreage offers a peaceful getaway convenient to either Grass Valley/Nevada City or Auburn. Sleeps four. Well-behaved pets welcome! No pet deposit.
If you're relocating the the area, it's a perfect landing spot as you shop for permanent digs, replete with a solidly roofed, 8x8x6 storage shed and a second storage shed for bicycles.
The Ranch House offers a quiet, magical setting with several, shared acres to run about, and a smaller, gated, private yard.
Sit with a cup of locally roasted coffee while taking in the view of pastureland and tree-covered foothills. There's a good chance you'll see sheep, deer or wild turkeys!
Comfortably sleeps four people: sink into the "heavenly" style queen bed in the bedroom, or enjoy the supportive firmness of the full-sized futon/sofa in the living area.
Put your culinary skills to work in the fully supplied kitchen, admiring the garden and pasture out the window over the sink as you scrub vegetables. An island breakfast bar awaits those who might sit and admire your cooking prowess.
If it's time to lounge, flop onto the futon or pull up chairs to gather 'round the flat-screen TV. Enjoy access to Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, or other web-based services (no cable), or pop in a Blu-Ray disc.
Stepping down from the living area, the sunroom offers a European farmhouse-style dining table that seats four, or up to six if you get cozy, and is placed at a picture window that offers a dramatic, pastoral view of fields and hills. Dine and sip as you relax into the feeling of being away from it all. There is also a nook for reading, sketching, or an intimate chat...
On a warm day, perhaps you might carry your tray out to the grapevine covered patio for a dining experience tucked into the shade.
Relax with a bath at the end of a day filled with a couple laps around the mile-loop road, marathon frisbee sessions in a field, and wading (or panning for gold!) in the year-round creek.
Come breathe in some fresh, country air!
Two storage sheds are offered for your bicycles or, if you're in the middle of a relocation, your worldly possessions.
Utilities included, with a woodstove for extra coziness in the colder months.
8x8x6 storage shed; bicycle shed; multiple parking spots
Hosts next door available -- always feel free to knock.
While we have a flatscreen TV, there is no TV reception or cable. There is, however, an internet-enabled Blu-Ray player, ready for your discs or your Netflix or Hulu Plus account.
No smoking, please, in the house or in the gated yard. Smokers may smoke in the dining patio, but no ashtrays are provided. Please dispose of butts properly before checking out. Sound carries in our valley, so loud late parties are not a good idea. Parents of infants, please bring your own port-a-cribs. ****Pet-owners, please bring your own pet bedding. You may also use the linens in the closet in the box marked "PET LINENS. As much as we love animals, we do provide humans with high thread count sheets and luxury bedding we would appreciate being kept nice!****
Please respect our checkout time of 11am.
I love hosting via Airbnb because I get to meet people from all over the world!
About me: When not tending to our Airbnb properties, I spend my time as a mother of three charming girls, a cause-driven volunteer for the YMCA, and Development Director for a local Waldorf school. I love to cook fresh food obtained via our local CSA or at the Saturday farmers' market at Northstar Mine--a property which boasts a house designed by renowned architect Julia Morgan. If you visit in the summer and love farmers markets and/or the Arts-and-Crafts architectural movement, Northstar Mine is a must-see!
A word about my places: I follow the golden rule. When I travel, I appreciate clean lodgings with working fixtures. So I see to it that everything possible is washed and scrubbed between guests, and that the light bulbs are checked.
I look forward to hosting you!
