Lissett was the greatest and most helpful host. The apartment is centrally located and so convenient. She also was really resourceful and connected us with a driver that took us all over Cuba for a great price. She gave great recommendations for site seeing, resteraunt, nightlife, and great neighborhoods.
Infanta is a large fairly busy street, easy to locate, close to the Malecon and the University area of Vedado. The room was on the third floor walk up, through Lisett's apartment, and very quiet, clean. Good but noisy air conditioner. Not much of a view but so what...Very nice little neighborhood around the corner with good coffee shop Dulcinea, nice well cooked food at the Toke restaurant on ground floor; you can buy a whole meal as a cajita for 35 MN from their side window, and eat it in a nice little park right there. Recommend walking 3 blocks on 27th to Nana coffee shop for great music in the evening.
Overall, good time. Great spot, good location, friendly family, tasty breakfast. Lisette was helpful with providing suggestions for rooms to stay in other cities and organizing rides. However, we missed our planned taxi because she did not call in time - be insistent about organizing things ahead of time :)
Staying with Lisett was truly an amazing experience. Her hospitality and kind heart were what made our stay unforgettable. Not only did she help us navigate Havana but also planned our trips (rides and accommodation in both Trinidad and Viñales). While she speaks primarily Spanish, she has a basic comprehension of English and it's best if you use Spanish to communicate with her on Airbnb! It's a simple accommodation located in a central part of the Vedado district and only a few blocks away from the Malecon. If you get the chance to stay with Lisett, it would be nice if you bring some Kit Kat bars because it's her daughter's favorite (but super expensive in Cuba)!
