Walter's place is a very fine Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are small, yet beautiful, like gems, with boutique lighting, hot, hot wonderful showers AND sink water, free water, of course, comfortable beds, and a nice location. We took a walk down to the lake, which wasn't far (and since I use a rolling walker, I can tell you that is true. We walked down to the lake and stopped past the football stadium, which was declared as very nice by my Tanzanian son, who was travelling with me. He hoped to pick up a game, but the line was very long. We walked further and saw vendors heading back up the road and by then could see the lake ahead...a big surprise. We bought popcorn and you could buy other snacks as well. The lake view was just magical. Beautiful. The neighborhood has some organizations, hotels and fine-looking houses. A great walkable neighborhood. Ask for directions, though. we found the lake by accident. At the lake you can choose a fish and have them cooked for you at a restaurant that is right there, but we chose to come back and have dinner at Walter's place, which includes a restaurant and bar. The food was quite good, although the spaghetti bolognese was more like a sauce with a few bits of spaghetti in it, but it was nicely flavor (Hey! it's Tanzania, not Italy). They put out a very nice breakfast which is included in your stay. My one regret was not having the time to stay another night. If I am blessed to return to Bukoba, I will definitely stay at this place again. Thank you for a great stay, Walter!
Brilliant find, gorgeous rooms, great ambience and fabulous service - everybody was extremely helpful, friendly and happy to see us. Good food at the restaurant too, nice bar area which is pleasantly busy at night, so that unlike other places in the area, it never felt empty. We loved this place and all the people in it! Great value for money and one of the very best places we've stayed in our three months in Africa.
It is a very luxurious hotel and the room looks like the pictures! There is also a restaurant and it's a short walk to the beautiful Victoria lake. We would recommend printing out your Airbnb confirmation, as it makes things much easier (English not being the native language). They were very nice and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, they even got up very early and served us an early (included) breakfast before we had to catch our bus. WIFI was pretty bad.
This was an excellent place to stay in Bukoba. Very helpful and friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a very nice room. They had wifi, hot showers with great water pressure, mosquito nets, and a restaurant with lots of food choices. The included breakfast was very tasty. I'd definitely recommend this place.
