Hello, my name is Vlado (42), along with my business partner Pavle (27), we are proud owners of the Hostel Slow in Belgrade, Serbia. We have the biggest and the most beautiful garden of all hostels in the City.
I couldn't imagine my life without Belgrade. Although I lived abroad at the West and the East, for a years, I found my self thinking about a place like this at home. I spent a large part of my career as a journalist in Brussels and Moscow.
Knowing people on both sides, I can tell you with a strong belief that Belgrade is surely is the middle point of Europe in a sense of trade, culture, tradition and life style. So, this Hostel is a piece of Belgrade history.
Together with three friends, who are veterans of Belgrade clubbing, we put our dreams into a common adventure and founded Hostel Slow.
We renovated an old house set in the middle of a huge garden and did a Serbian homely place.
Plan was to do a renovation work month before, but we were stacked in the middle of the process because of the fact that people are not perfect. We worked slowly but surely and precisely.
So, that is how we named our hostel by Slow.
We are proud to be owners of the hostel with an amazing garden with a hundred years old trees.

We have a relatively small but well chosen collection of books. To be honest most of the titles are in the Serbian/Croatian language.
