Of course, you'll want accommodations to match, and our two-person Serenity Suite offers what few places in Yosemite can—a luxury home that's private and peaceful. It's the perfect setting to create lasting memories together. Located at 5,500 feet, this area offers the closest lodging to the Badger Pass Ski and alpine adventure area.
Located inside the park gate, in the Yosemite West neighborhood, Serenity Suite is approximately 20-30 minutes from popular attractions, including the Valley floor and its breathtaking waterfalls, Glacier Point, and Wawona with its golf course. It sure beats driving over two hours from one of the gateway cities!
Serenity Suite is brand new and you can feel the care that went into every detail. As you can see in our pictures, the living area and bedroom are connected. In fact, the whole suite boasts an open floor plan and extra high ceilings that both make the space feel bigger than it is. Outside you'll find a huge covered deck with a barbecue. The home is fully equipped - towels, linens, dishes, cookware. You only need to bring yourself, your food/drink, and a good time!
We are sorry - there is no TV service or reliable cell phone service in this area or at our home. We do have internet with WiFi (see other section for internet limitations). We have a video library.
Serenity Suite is located below our other rental (Royal Retreat, for parties up to 4 people). All of your space is separate and private including your parking area, entrance and deck. The entrance to the suite is down an 18-step stairway which is extra wide to make it easy to get luggage in and out. PLEASE NOTE: because this is a lower unit, you will hear footfall and other sounds of occupancy coming from the unit above. Please expect this. We built the home with soundproofing and all our guests have been satisfied.
This home comfortably sleeps two people. We allow three people and provide an air mattress and/or portable crib. We welcome children but they must be booked as "children" if they are 6 months or older so that they can be charged, or let us know you are bringing one baby under 6 months and it will be no charge.
Rates listed already include the local 11% tax.
Check in time is 4 pm. Check out time is 11 am.
Cell service: There is NO cell service at our home.
Internet Connection: We live in a remote area. Internet is limited to Satellite. NOT an unlimited data connection. To make this system work great for e-mail and web browsing, we have limited all other uses. Full policy available on request and posted in the home.
Our connection cannot stream media. FaceTime, Voice Over IP, social media and all similar high volume data uses are blocked. You will not find another vacation home in this region that offers more robust service. If you need a more robust connection, you will need to stay in a hotel
Maximum occupancy: 3 adults/children. Infants under 6 months are no charge, but they count towards the maximum occupancy of 3 people.
This is a lower unit. There is rentable home above Serenity Suite. You may hear footfalls or other noises of occupancy from above, although we have built the home with soundproofing to reduce these distractions.
We require a signed rental contract and agreement upon booking which has our policies, including rules for our fire-risk area, food storage, and other details.
This is an approximate example of that contract:
1)Self check in: You will receive a key code in advance of your arrival.
2)No Smoking or Burning Materials: Absolutely NO campfires, NO smoking in the home or on the deck, NO smoking on the premises, NO burning of anything on the premises, NO candles, NO fireworks. NO charcoal briquettes, NO lighter fluid allowed. The home is located in an area of extreme fire danger with no reasonable expectation of successful response by firefighters, so fire prevention is very important. Violations could result in immediate eviction and/or charges for cleaning or damage.
3)Animals are not allowed inside the home or on the premises. If you have significant allergies to any specific animals, please let us know so that we can confirm whether our house will meet your needs. Violations will result in immediate eviction and/or charges for unregistered guest, cleaning and/or damage.
4)Damage Deposit: AirBNB handles damage claims and we will request compensation through AirBNB if damage occurs. You can avoid that by meeting the following provisions:
-Place all debris, rubbish and discards in designated waste containers.
-Place all soiled dishes in dishwasher and run before check-out.
-No linens or furnishings are lost or damaged.
-Leave the property in the same condition it was in when you arrived.
-Let us know immediately of any problems or breakages so we can work out repair details.
5)Maximum Occupancy: The maximum number of guests is limited to 3 occupants all ages (including infants). 1 infant under 6 months, if declared, is no charge. We do charge for children 6 months-2 years old. Declare number of guests at time of booking. Renters will be charged for unregistered guests ($150/person/night). Only registered guests are allowed on the property. No parties.
6)No Daily Maid service: There is no daily maid service. Linens and bath towels are included in the rental. Please do not remove any linens from the home and consider bringing beach towels for beach activities.
7)Parking: Please park only in the designated parking for Serenity Suite or on the road way near the Serenity Suite parking pad, which adjoins the stairs to the unit. Do not park on the pad away from your staircase as this farther parking is reserved for Royal Retreat and owner use. We will do snow removal for you on your arrival day.
8)This is a Lower Unit: Please be aware that there is a rentable home above Serenity Suite which may be occupied by another party at any time during your visit. Please be aware that there are 18 stairs to access the property. The stairs can be slippery when wet or icy.
9)Weather and Road Closures: Access to the home is at 6,000 feet elevation. Be aware SNOW can occur and 4 wheel drive or chains can be required at any time – please be prepared. Bring chains when visiting from October through April. Road closures can occur at any time. The park is accessed by up to four different highway routes. Call park roads number provided for current road and weather conditions. No refunds due to weather or road closures, as long as the home is accessible. Our home is accessible during park closures.
10)Cancellations: Under our AirBNB policies we do not provide refunds once it is one-week before your arrival.
11)Please be aware that there are occasional power or water outages in the neighborhood as it is a rural area. We very much regret this inconvenience, but we cannot be responsible for failures caused by the county system.
12)We offer satellite internet for e-mail and basic web browsing. Due to data caps, we have blocked high data uses, including streaming media, social media, file sharing, online storage, etc. Full policy is posted in the home or is available upon request. Data is NOT UNLIMITED.
13)Stores, restaurants, medical facilities, etc. are at least 30 minutes away. Come prepared.
14)Leave no food or trash inside your vehicles or outside the home. Bears are active in this area and proper food storage is essential. If bears damage our property AND you have left food in your vehicle or outside the home, we will consider you liable for this damage.
15)Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 8 am. This is strictly enforced. Please respect neighbors and other visitors.
16)The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The owners are not responsible for loss of personal belongings or valuables of guests. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises.
Holly is an Accountant (CPA) and Jeff is a Park Ranger-National Park Service. We enjoy rock climbing (our favorite!), skiing, mountain-biking and all outdoor adventures. We lived in Yosemite a combined 15 years and we still call it home, but we also live now in Three Rivers, CA, the gateway to Sequoia National Park. We are dog lovers and we own and breed Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs. Holly's motto is "its a GREAT day to be alive" and Jeff's is "What could possibly go wrong?"
