Quaint, characterful self-catering accommodation in Valley View Farm. The farm was built around 1600, but has had several later extensions, which include the Annexe (converted in August 2016). It’s a Grade II listed building in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set in 8 acres. Just a few minutes from the sea at Lyme Regis and SW Coastal Path. Ideal for walkers.
A peaceful spot for relaxing and star gazing - no light pollution. A bridal path runs past the farmhouse, which joins a network of footpaths. 20-minute walk to Lyme Regis along River Lim recommended.
Front garden with terrace/furniture.
Host generally in residence, so available for help/advice.
There is also a working pottery (The Pot Place) on the site. It is available for groups or individuals wishing to explore some basic hand-building modelling techniques and create a unique reminder of their holiday. There’s also a small selection of pieces that can be decorated. A portable pottery wheel is available to use on request and people are welcome to 'have a go'. The class is aimed at all levels and ages, but it would be helpful to know in advance what experience you have and what you hope to achieve from the session.
This class will hopefully fire your imagination and offer a lasting memory of a wonderful holiday experience.
£15 per 2-hour session (min. 2 person) or £15 per 1-hour 1-1 session (inc. basic material for making one small item. Extra charges for specialist material may be made as agreed)
Please contact Amanda Roberts on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or (EMAIL HIDDEN) to arrange a convenient time.
I provide some logs for your first fire in the woodburning stove. There are also large bags of logs in the boiler room. These can be purchased for £5.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (if booking before the end of May 2017*), but should not to be left unattended in the property or garden under any circumstances. We make a small charge of £5 per dog per day, or £25 per dog per week, to cover the cost of extra cleaning.
* Regretfully, because of several bad experiences and the size of the property, I have had to decide against hair-covered pets. I shall obviously honour existing bookings.
Wifi access and phone signal: EE/Orange/T-mobile phones work well here, but not O2. I have recently had complaints about Wifi, but have since had engineers in to correct the problem and connect to Fibre Optic. I have also told guests that if there is any problem with Wifi (or anything else) to tell me immediately, so that I can get it resolved and invite them to use it in the main house, where - if there's a problem - it is generally better. Also, if my other holiday let next door (and on different Broadband) is unoccupied, they are welcome to use it in there.
- Cot, high chair and bed sofa available in the one bed-sitting room
