Decorated in handprinted wallpapers, paintings of the coast and of the artist’s family, this studio home* is set in the very heart of the town. Lyme Regis and especially Little Place continue to be an inspiration to its present artist owners. Here’s your opportunity to share that inspiration by staying in a quite unique house in this jewel of a seaside town. Your host Hugh is a working artist with a busy practice in portraits, landscapes, & lino prints together with textiles & wallpaper making.
Welcome to Little Place. The household consists of myself, Hugh, my wife Candida and sometimes Daniel aged 24. We have two cats - Lenny and Mimi, who often sleeps under the table on the landing at the top of the stairs.
We have two double rooms and the price listed is for one room for two people. There may be an additional charge for a single night stay.
You can come and go at will with your own front door key. You will find wifi and TV with radio station access in each room, also homemade biscuits and facilities for making hot drinks. On your table there is a folder with wifi access code, a town map, and suggestions for walks, places of interest and other adventures. Lyme Regis has a theatre, museum, and many other distractions by the sea. Fossils and flotsam are found on the beaches, west and eastwards, but only go on the eastern beach towards Charmouth at low tide. Never attempt to climb the cliffs, they are unstable.
This is a creative, working house and we welcome those who respect a quiet atmosphere. Hugh is a working artist, and the work around the house changes frequently. Some of it is for sale. If you are interested in any of the bigger paintings, you might be invited to make a gypsy's bargain.
Please leave muddy shoes or boots downstairs.
