Fuengirola is well-known for its long 8 kilometres of sunny beaches, where we’ll find a wide offer of hotels and apartments with beautiful views over the Mediterranean sea. Fuengirola has the longest seafront promenade in Spain, ideal for a nice walk at sunset and decorated with palm trees from one extreme to the other, flowers and benches to sit down and have a rest, and if we decide to walk to the port we’ll find many leisure boats and enormous yachts, even though it’s not at the same level as Puerto Banus, it’s still a relaxing stroll that you’ll enjoy watching the fishing boats head out to sea.
Fuengirola has a great amount of restaurants and typical Andalusian tapas bars, where you’ll enjoy both the rich gastronomy of Malaga and as well as the typical fried fish. Fuengirola is in the centre of Spains sunny Costa del Sol. With great transport links to other towns, villages and cities of the Costa del Sol and Andalucia. In the resort itself, the sandy beaches seem to go on for ever, stretching for over eight miles from Torreblanca to Sohail Castle. The widened Paseo Maritimo, or promenade , makes for a very pleasent walk.
Los Boliches is situated in Fuengirola which in turn is situated between Malaga and Marbella. Fuengirola stretches throughout 8 kilometres of coast, with beautiful beaches such as Carvajal, Los Boliches, San Franscisco, Santa Amelia and El Castillo. Thanks to its excellent climate and the hospitality of its people, Fuengirola is a favourite tourist destination. There are many ex pats that have chosen Los Boliches as a haven and a better way of life. There are regular markets, a castle, a zoo, a fantastic paseo, a water park and plenty of places to explore. It is a bustling area with many bars, cafe's and restaurants. People in this area are known for their hospitality and friendliness. Family values are so much a part of everyday life which means that places here are child friendly as well as handicap friendly.
Fuengirola and Los Boliches is situated between Marbella and Malaga, 26 kms to the west of Malaga Airport and approximately 25 minutes away by car. Fuengirola and Los Boliches are the terminus of the local railway line that connects it to Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Malaga airport and Malaga city every 20 minutes. The fares are very cheap . Journey time from Malaga airport to Fuengirola is just 30 minutes, and from Malaga city only 40 minutes.
The bus station has coastal services to Benalmadena, Coin, Torremolinos, Malaga and Mijas. Also long distance services to Algeciras, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, La Linea, Cordoba and Ronda.
How to get to Fuengirola and Los Boliches:
Fuengirola and Los Boliches are 24.8km to the west from Malaga airport, and there are many transportation methods which can get you there in around 28 minutes.
Taking a bus from Malaga airport to Fuengirola and Los Boliches is a method of transportation; there are a few bus stops in Fuengirola and it could take a little longer than 28 minutes to get to Fuengirola.
Taxi at Malaga airport to Fuengirola for 24 Euro aproximately.
Trains from Malaga airport to the Los Boliches train station and center of Fuengirola every 20 minutes. Its accesible by crossing the bridge out of the airport.
Car hire in Malaga may be a nice and cheap option if you also plan to visit Malaga and Fuengirola surroundings.
Transfers to Fuengirola is a fast and confortable way for going to Fuengirola if you don´t need to rent a car.
Los Boliches sandy beach:

to chill out, relax, have fun. Go for long walks, laze on the beach, take long lunches.
Los Boliches coast is located in an urban area with a promenade. Calm waves. It has a coastguard team, warning signs, a first aid hut, a rescue team and local police hut. Easy access both walking and by car, it has a parking lot and facilities for the disabled. Easy to reach by bus or by train. It has a tourist office, showers, public telephone, wastepaper bins, sunbeds, sunshades and pedal boats to hire, cleaning service and access lanes.
Virgen del Carmen (16th July):
Virgen del Carmen (16th July) is very popular with a marine-terrestrial procession of the Patron of the Sea. Well worth seeing.
Most of the nightlife centres around the bars and restaurants on the promenade, while in the streets behind, bistros and bars make everyone welcome.
The Feria :
The Feria in October sees the in Spanish costumes parading
around on horses. Join in the fun of the funfair at the Feria ground, along with stalls and entertainment.
Weekly street markets ( Tuesday and Saturday flea market):
Weekly markets ( Tuesday and Saturday flea market)one of the largest flea markets in all of Europe! The city's fair grounds host two weekly markets - one on Tuesday and one on Saturday - that draw locals and tourists alike to explore the fascinating collections of goods for sale. Tuesday's morning market includes foods and spices, typical cheap Spanish products and clothing. If you're interested in all things vintage, than the Saturday market is where you need to be.
