I had a wonderful stay here. The flat itself is spacious and thoroughly furnished. I was delighted to find many basic things here often skimped on in other rentals, such as bedsheets and washcloths. It also had plenty of natural light, and beautiful views of the garden and neighborhood. Combined with the distant sounds of the neighborhood rooster, it was a very peaceful setting. It is a little outside the city center, which I felt added to the charm. It was quieter than downtown, and taking a different path into the city each day meant naturally seeing more of what the city had to offer. Last but not least, Jenny was a fantastic host. When I arrived she sat down with me to introduce the area and make numerous recommendations for things to eat and do in the city and for side trips to nearby places. This contributed a lot to my stay. I'd definitely return, and recommend.
I just returned from Italy _La Puglia. Thanks Dave for your very nice review, that gives me a warm feeling because sometimes Airb&b has very negative reviews as well. I know that giving a warm personal welcome to guests is giving them a feeling of being home , which is my purpose. Thanks Dave and have a nice continuing of your trip and good luck .
A wonderful B&B experience. Jenny is a superb host. Very detailed orientation to the city and events. Provided us with welcome snacks and beer, and also a crib and basin for our baby. Lovely garden views, with public park and public swimming pool and market nearby. She also provided us with bikes. The city center is walkable. We would absolutely recommend staying here if looking for a nice, quiet home in Bruges.
Excellent location, in a fairly quiet residential road but easily walkable into the centre. The location itself is really beautiful, the houses here have so much character. The host is very helpful and gave us lots of assistance. If driving, when you arrive, immediately ask the host for the parking permit that gives you 4 hours parking, as they're very quick to ticket you here, and you will need to move your car to a permanent free parking location thereafter - there is one nearby and we just left our car there for the 3 nights we stayed. The flat is through the owner's house, and is at the top of the house. The flat is spacious, clean and has all the usual mod cons. The bedroom is another floor up, in what is effectively the attic - accessed by way of a steep staircase, not one I enjoyed carrying our baby down as there were no bannisters or handrail. The bathroom is actually part of the bedroom, there is no wall separating the two. One thing I found difficult was to shave in the bathroom sink due to the small mirror which is set too far back to be of any assistance, I guess you could shave in the kitchen sink though. There is a cot which is on the floor below the bedroom, (the bedroom is too small to bring the cot up) so we ended up not using it. There were two bikes in the hallway if you want to go for a ride. The front door to the house was very stiff as it was too large for the opening and made a real noise when trying to open, this was apparently due to the warm weather. Overall a very nice place to stay when visiting Bruges.
Great flat for our weekend stay, 15 minute walk to the centre of Bruges and located in a nice quiet area. Jenny was a great host - really friendly and helpful, giving lots of tips and reccommendations and providing us with maps as well. We would definitely come back when we are next in Bruges!
