Where are we located exactly? - well we sure wish (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps could figure that out as well. We are 35 minutes from the El Paso airport, 15 minutes from the NW part of El Paso, (I-10 & Exit 8.) We are in NM between Santa Teresa and La Union, sitting high on a mesa overlooking the valley of the Rio Grande River with 3 mountain ranges in view from the back patio.
We are located on the edge of open desert, with hiking and horseback riding available just outside the door. Because of the country roads, our location is not suited for bicycles, motorcycles or large heavy moving vans. It is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience the Southwest desert firsthand. We have a dog onsite who loves to entertain guests in exchange for tummy rubs. Visiting dogs are welcome in Tortugas with prior approval and $16+tax pet fee.
Children 6 and over are welcome. There are many cacti in the gardens and desert critters which can present problems for younger kids.

Each room has a private patio, but there is also lots of common space outside to enjoy the sunny weather of the southwest. There is a Kiva fireplace in the dining room for chilly nights during the winter.
Marlene lives on site with Peanut, the concierge dog. Our day starts early and ends early, but we love visiting with guests if schedules permit. We prefer to have you arrive early so we can show you around and make sure you are comfortably settled in.

For the last 10 years, my husband and I have been running a Bed and Breakfast - Casa de Suenos, on the edge of open desert in a residential community in NM, but just outside El Paso TX.
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and since I don't get to travel any more, I love hearing the stories from our guests.
I maintain the house and 3 acres our B & B is built on. That is a pretty full time job, but I enjoy making the grounds a true desert experience for our guests.
In terms of guests, we have had the most wonderful guests at our B & B. We are pretty laid back and live in a quiet residential area in the middle of the desert. We appreciate guests who like to connect with nature, are respectful of mother earth and appreciate the quiet of the desert.
