I love my 1940's farmhouse. I have always preferred a house with character. The rental suite is upstairs. It is quaint and comfy as a farm house would be. The property is accessible to Mt Spokane, Schweitzer and 49° North ski areas. Access from the property to the main highway is easy. It is quiet, but close to amenities. The views are spectacular (particularly from the hot tub).
Vintage farm house surrounded by fields and evergreen woods with a spectacular view of Mt. Spokane. This house is only about 25 miles to cross-country and downhill skiing and snowshoeing at Mt. Spokane and easy access to ski areas at Schweitzer north of Sandpoint and 49° North at Colville. It is available in January, February, March and part of April.
The house is fully furnished, there are two bedrooms each with a private bathroom, has internet access basic TV reception, laundry facilities, a fully equipped kitchen, and has three outside cats. Roads and the driveway are plowed. There is room for your vehicle.
If you are interested in long term rental for February, since this is my home, I would require a security deposit and references. In return, I would make sure that you have access to information to make your stay enjoyable. I would not be available during your stay, but will have someone look in every day and make sure you have contacts in the case of need.
When I greet you, I will give you a key to use for the weekend. It fits the main entry doors. It must be returned at the end of your stay. I will need advance notice for a larger party that would use the downstairs suite. Breakfast will be provided. If you would like to prepare a lunch to take with you or hot beverages in the evening, you are welcome to use the kitchen if you let me know. I will be glad to discuss preparing a hot dinner for an additional per person charge. There is a sitting area upstairs and you are invited to relax in the living room.
I will greet you at the beginning of your stay. I will be at home at night and in the morning. If yours is a large party and need the downstairs suite, I need plenty of advance notice, as I will not be staying on the premises, but very close by. I like getting to know my guests and also respect that this is their getaway, not mine.
I love to share my home with people who appreciate and respect it. I will be glad to assist you with planning your stay, whether it be in the home or what there is to do in the area. Just let me know what your needs are.
You will be a guest in my home. I will put away things that you nor I would not want you to be responsible for, but I would not like to leave the house bare of aesthetics. I will secure cabinets of things that I would prefer you don't use. The basement is my ceramics studio, and is off limits, unless I bring you down there. Please treat my home as you would your own.
Invite guests with prior notice to me, but please, no big parties. Please do not smoke in the house. There is plenty of space on the porch or deck. Please leave used towels on the washer. Please do not leave food or dirty dishes out overnight. I have three cats, but mice are clever and during winter they hide inside. The downstairs bed is a waterbed. Please do not jump on it or bring any sharp objects into it. If you want to use the barbecue, pull it away from the house on the deck. And help yourself to books to read. That's what they're there for.
I am an Israeli/American citizen. Since I returned to the US to live in the Northwest, I visit Israel and my good friends there every year when it starts to get green and a bit warmer (I don't do hot) there, and I can get a break from 5 months of snow here.
