Our stay at Natali's place only lasted about 16 hours, but we loved every minute of it. This was our lodging of choice for the night directly after our trek to Machu Picchu, meaning that we returned to Cusco at about 8:00 pm and had few opportunities for Internet connection the three days prior. Nevertheless, Natali was warm, friendly, and incredibly hospitable, sending us a map to her location and letting us check in much later than the posted time. We will be eternally grateful to Natali and her understanding and flexibility! The apartment itself is beautiful, clean, and equipped with all the modern amenities. The view of Cusco is AMAZING, as well. Staying here, you're located about 10 minutes from the main square and about 5 from the San Blas Arts District, meaning that there's a wealth of things to do right at your fingertips. You're also shielded from the noise and bustle brought about by tourists in the more trafficked parts of the city, which is a plus in my book. I couldn't recommend Natali's place enough; do yourself a favor by staying here.
Natali's place was fantastic, as was her family and the way they made us feel welcome. They went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed, even having maps and suggesting us places we might like to visit. The apartment was great, with extra blankets, heaters and even movies to watch. Another plus for backpackers like me - they had laundry! They were even generous enough to provide us with soap. Would reckoned in a heartbeat.
Natali and her family were VERY kind and hospitable to us throughout our stay. From arranging transportation from us to the airport to the apartment and all throughout our visit to Cusco, they were welcoming, helpful, and made our visit BEYOND wonderful! The apartment is located in a neighborhood that was walkable to the main plazas, markets, and things to do (or a very short taxi ride away, if needed). Natali was super communicative before and all throughout our trip and made all transportation arrangements that we needed for us (even when we needed a taxi before 5am in order to make it to our Machu Picchu agency in time). She gave us great recommendations on places to go, things to see, and areas to avoid at certain times. Her knowledge and recommendations helped make our visit seamless and meaningful and we were able to maximize the short time we had there. The apartment itself was super clean and comfortable with incredible views of the mountains and the city. The terrace upstairs was open to us anytime we wanted to use it and provided great views as well! A couple of quick tips though, if you're visiting: 1. If you're visiting in July/August, make sure you pack some warm sleep clothes and a jacket if going out in the evenings. The daytime weather was beautiful but it got pretty chilly at night in Cusco. The apartment does have space heaters in the bedrooms which was great, but it is good to be prepared to layer in something warm if going out or hanging on the terrace or in the living room. 2. Visit Cusco with realistic expectations when it comes to water temperature for showers. In all the cities/countries we visited in South America this trip, the showers did not ever reach "hot" temperatures like we are accustomed to in the USA. This is in no way a negative against this apartment or the hosts. It is just a reality of which visitors should be prepared. Plan to take showers in the late afternoon or early evening, as the water has had some extra time to warm up during the day. The water is still pretty cold in the mornings but it is simple to plan around, if you're aware of it! 3. There are several flights of stairs to reach this apartment and no elevator. If climbing stairs is an issue for you, this may not be the best choice, however if you don't mind the stairs, the apartment is wonderful and the views from up in the apartment are incredible! All in all, this was a wonderful place to stay and Natali and her family were really the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone! Enjoy Cusco! It was a wonderful city to visit!
