Want to get a great getaway and you are on a budget? Michael is an wonderful host. The fact that he picked us up and dropped us off was more than kind. His place is clean and basic with a comfortable bed and a sweet little pool that is not often occupied,1 so you would have it all to yourself. It's in a quiet neighborhood and close to a number of wonderful places to explore. The local beach is just up the street with the calmest and most beautiful water you can imagine. It is warm and like bath water. Make sure you have some great beach towels and even bring your beer down to the beach and you will have a wonderful time with the locals. I spent several hours at the beach and there was never more than 30 people there. Getting around is very easy on the bus just make sure to have some cash on hand for your ride. The bus drivers and the locals are so nice. I don't know that I've been to a location where the people were nicer. You can take a nice walk up the street to some places for the quick eat cheap eats. Or go downtown to the fish fry or other restaurants. If you want to experience the resorts but don't want to pay the high price of the hotels, you can get a day pass at Melia for $45 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. The pass is good from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily or Sandals, which is adult only. But if you want to save money I would just get yourself some chairs or your beach towel and go straight to Cable Beach. You'll save some money and still have a great time in the water. We got a great bang for our buck!!!
We chose this to try something different after staying on Paradise Island. We loved having the bikes and rode them both days we were there - super fun. We also used the snorkel gear, which was fun. This is a good place if you want to check out something besides downtown (it's a bit far from downtown). Really great air conditioning and a pool for use too. The bed was kinda uncomfortable for me, but didn't seem to bother my boyfriend. Michael was great! Super friendly and helpful. Plus he picked us up and gave us a ride to the airport which saved us a ton of money on taxis. Totally worth it for that!
The apartment is close to a major street (W Bay Street) where you can catch the bus downtown very conveniently. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood with beautiful palatial homes that were always a treat to walk past. We were grateful for hot and cold running water with good pressure, a supply of bottled water to drink, and the cleanliness of the apartment. The neighborhood was quite safe to walk around even in the evening; that was nice. Michael was so gracious. He had thought of every possible thing we might need, even offering to help us travel to and from the airport and travel to purchase groceries. He even provided bicycles we could've used to get around the city! The apartment is walking distance from the Meliã and Baha Mar hotels, and a short bus ride to Breezes, Sandy Port Beach, and Junkanoo Beach. (Make sure you go to Arawak Cay and eat at O Andros!) Michael helped make our short stay in Nassau a real pleasure, and I highly recommend this apartment!
Michael was an outstanding host. He was very efficient and helpful. He picked us up from the airport and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed talking to him, he gave us many recommendations about the island. The location of the home couldn't be more perfect. It was extremely charming, and convenient. From the home, it's about a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute to the grocery store, and lots of cute shops and restaurants in between. We would definitely come back again!
I am a destination wedding photographer and I was shooting a wedding at the nearby resort in Cable beach, and this Airbnb was literally a 10 minute walk away so it ended up being perfect. It's also a 5-10 minute walk away from the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen in my entire life, and I've been to a lot of amazing places. Michael was super kind, considerate and helpful. He genuinely cares about us and our stay, which made us feel incredibly at home and supported. He even gave us a ride from and to the airport, which was so amazing of him!! He totally didn't have to give us rides, but he's such that wonderful. It's an incredible value, this Airbnb. If you're interested in a more authentic and laid back stay as opposed to an overpriced resort stay, then this place is for you.
Michael was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. The beach access was very close by, and the neighborhood was very nice. The pool was almost always empty, so it was fun to have that right outside the door. Grocery store was nearby. And, you can walk to Sandals and get a day pass if you want the resort atmosphere for a day of your trip.
