A separate entrance brings you into a large bedroom, living room, bathroom, and food prep area (600 SF total)... all yours and private. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and a queen futon. Many a teenager has also slept on the couch in the living room. The living room is a great place to relax with a gas fireplace and a 55” television.
If you are more than two people sharing the queen sized bed, there is a very comfortable queen futon in the bedroom that can also be made up. The living room area has a couch that is comfortable to sleep on.
The suite is in a separate part of the downstairs of our house. Two of us live quietly upstairs. There is a food prep area with a microwave and toaster and coffee and tea makers. Coffee, tea and accompaniments supplied. Paper dishes are provided as well as regular dishes. We are happy to wash any dishes used, just set them outside our front door in the bin provided. There is a mini-fridge and a purified water dispenser.
We are happy to provide information on local or regional resources.
There is a seasonal pond in the backyard. It is a pretty meadow backed by trees in the summer, but in the other seasons the pond is full of ducks and sometimes a heron or two. Spring brings the symphony of frogs waking up. Watch the sky and the dancing treetops from the backyard hammock.
If you are smokers, please note that this rental is not best suited for you as indoor and outdoor smoking is not possible.
As Guests: We enjoy staying in AirBnb's when we travel and we are quiet and respectful guests!
As Hosts: Roy and I have lived in Bellingham in this house and neighborhood for 23 years. Our kids are grown and out now, so we have extra space (with a private entrance) to share. We have both traveled and lived in other parts of the country and Roy has lived in other parts of the world. Roy has a pretty good command of Spanish. We welcome guests from near or far. We are easy going and accommodating and both have wide backgrounds, spanning from professional careers to living and working at a yoga ashram to having our own businesses. Eclectic would be a good word for both of us. We are happy to answer questions and provide information when you are here or, if you prefer, we can give you total privacy. Welcome!
