My place is close to parks, restaurants and dining, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the location, and the views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

I am so pleased to share my second home with you here in beautiful Beulah Valley!!! This is not the average vacation rental as I do live here part of the year. This property has been part of Beulah's history for about 100 years, and for the last 35 years, my family has had the privilege of being it's caretaker. (A copy of 'From Mace's Hole To Beulah' is a wonderful historical background of Beulah, and is available for you to read during your stay. Note page 150 is about my Grandfather and grandmother, Joe and Katherine Mehring.)

Also, we have a variety of wildlife for your enjoyment. The deer are always plentiful, and you'll often see several sets of twins or triplets romping in the hayfield. They may seem tame, but never attempt to feed or touch any deer, just take a few photos from a safe distance and enjoy their beauty as a spectator. Bear are also common in the valley. Although it's not quite Yellow Stone park, we get our share. Do not leave garbage out: Do not leave picnic food unattended: Do not try to get closer for a better shot - trust me, just get a better camera, and stay back!. Lion are less frequently seen here in town, but the same rules apply as for the bear. Other critters may include skunks, raccoons, turkey, rabbits, fox, squirrels, bobcats, and unfortunately, a few mice (sorry, we do our best, but this is the country.)

Some of the amenities our cottage offers are cable TV, wireless internet, washer/dryer, dog pen, horse corral, 3 minutes from Post Office, general store, two restaurants, coffee shop and antique shopping. A short 30 minute drive offers mountain lake fishing, golf, theatres, and museums, and only an hour away is the famous Royal Gorge Bridge or Bishop's castle! We are pet friendly with a $200 refundable deposit and proper health papers.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind vacation spot, and one of the best kept secrets in the beautiful mountains of colorado!

The driveway and yard are large and allow for plenty of parking. You are allowed to hike the fields, but no vehicles please, as I harvest the hay crop several times per year. I do keep the basement area locked inside and the outbuildings are for private storage only. Visitors are welcome to use the gas grill - extra propane is in the back porch closet - you will need to light it by hand, as the auto-light feature is broken.

I have a sheet with local attractions, phone #'s, etc. inside the china hutch top drawer. Pueblo is about a 20 minute drive - Colorado City about the same - San Isabel Lake and Bishops Castle 30 minutes via 12 mile. (Ask at the local General Store.)

At certain times during the summer, we have 'box elder bugs'. They do not bite, but can be a little annoying as they crowd into warm areas during the evening.

This property has some of the best views in Beulah. The home/land is surrounded by mountains and is a great place to sit and watch the wildlife. We were sad to leave this little piece of heaven!

Very very quiet, not far from many scenic destinations. We easily visited Canon City and rode the Royal Gorge train and visited the park above the gorge. We also drove through the San Isobel park and took a ton of pictures. Bishops Castle is amazing, we almost made it to the top but chickened out. We were too lazy this trip to visit Pikes Peak but we will next time since it's not too far away. 20 minutes from fast food and Walmart, but very quiet and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for. The house is old but comfortable and very sweetly decorated. Everything you need is there except food. You may want to bring extra pillows though. Also, if you want movies, bring some dvds as there is only one movie channel. Shower is a bit rustic, but you will survive and the rest of the house is worth it.

This is a great place to stay in Beulah! The house is surrounded by hayfields where deer live and play. We especially enjoyed the views surrounding this home. Bonnie is a very gracious host.

charming country house, great view, nearby to Pueblo with plenty of things to do, excellent communication with the owner. Although it was not an issue for us (we're short), the beds are on the small side-one full and two twin size. Would absolutely stay again

A beautiful location and short walk to the village, where there is a restaurant, a coffee shop, and a well stocked general store. The stock includes beer, wine, and spirits. The house was clean and comfortable, though showing its age a bit and in need of some upkeep. We were there at the beginning of the season, so some of the yard work had not yet been done. A colony of gophers has invaded the lawn. Interesting to watch, but a blight on the landscaping. As Bonnie repeatedly states in her instructions: "It is the country," so one takes the wildlife in stride. The deer showed up in the field everyday as promised. The kitchen is large and furnished with plenty of dishes, silver, and pots and pans--though the assortment of all is a bit eclectic. There is a large, pleasant common room along one side of the house, with dining table and hutch at one end, comfortable couch, chair and rocker at the opposite end. The couch folds out to form a double bed. To accommodate the 6 guests mentioned in the ad, one has to count the sleeper couch. It was not clear from the pictures that the 3 bedrooms include only one with double bed and two with single beds, sleeping 4 comfortably, 6 with some inconvenience. The bedrooms are pleasantly decorated. There is a half bath between the two single bed rooms, which is a convenient feature. There is a full-size washer & dryer in a large separate room, accessed via a couple of steps. The paneling in the shower of the large full bath is clever and unique. We spent 3 delightful days here, taking advantage of the outdoor furniture and swing set for extended family conversations. It was a comfortable stay, but don't look for glitz or luxury here. It is a bit like visiting your aging uncle's home: cozy but marked with history. Bonnie was very pleasant, prompt, and helpful in our communications. She spends part of the year herself in the house, which no doubt accounts for the many homey touches. I give this property, and its owner, a firm thumbs up. Greg Smith

Great place in a great location. 20 minutes to Pueblo, and all sorts of other communities around to explore. Lovely place and a great place to just get away.

Though we were only there for a short time, everything was excellent. The town was quiet and quaint. The house met our needs perfectly. Definitely a great place for a relaxing stay.
