The Cabin is like a TREEHOUSE in a field! Highfields Cabin is near many restaurants, shops, family activities, whale-watch boats, grocery stores, and walking trails. Waterfront. Near 3 mid-coast Maine villages; 5 miles to the famous COASTAL MAINE Botanical Gardens/Boothbay. Off a back road, through a field; the natural beauty and tranquility here will amaze you. Great for couples, solo adventurers, families, and your dog! A perfect, peaceful retreat for anyone who wants privacy. Pet-friendly!
We built The Cabin in 1999 for our family and friends as a place to escape to and a place to gather. Before we built the cabin, we came to Maine, to this property to camp (in tents) with our three small children. The Cabin gave us much more opportunity to be in Maine in all four seasons. Over the years, we've added heat, and electricity and running water, both hot and cold! It is a sweet, warm cabin and has everything you need - just the essentials and it even smells good as we built it with the rough sawn pine boards as the interior walls. It is quiet, private and has what every architect says the perfect house shall have: Refuge and Prospect! Please come and enjoy the privacy of the open fields and expansive tidal river views. Its like having your own TREEHOUSE in the middle of a field with a view of the ocean in Maine! Camp fire and charcoal grill included.
When you are a guest at the Highfields Cabin - you will have the entire cabin to yourselves.
Guests can text the owner if you have questions or if you need help.

The CABIN sits on a 30 acre parcel of land in Edgecomb, Maine looking out to a tidal river called the Cross River - which flows out to the larger Sheepscot River. We built The CABIN in 1999 with a group of friends and have enjoyed the peace and serenity of the space all these years. For many years we stayed at The CABIN on fall weekends and for summer vacations when we lived in Massachusetts. As time went by, we sold our home in MA and built a more permanent house in Maine. The CABIN is still enjoyed by our family, friends and by airbnb guests. Life at the CABIN is peaceful and private - but the location is remarkably accessible to three great Maine villages: Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta. The very popular COASTAL MAINE BOTANICAL GARDENS: is a short drive down Rt. 27 toward Boothbay. We hope you will come and stay at The CABIN and enjoy a tranquil setting on the Maine coast this summer.
