Your room is on the 2nd floor of this 19th century town house and is accessible through a trap door. As you enter the room you are first greeted by a stunning 180 degree view of the bay through a 3-sided box window.
The size of the room is very comfortable:
Floor area: 4 x 5 meters (approx)
Roof height: 2.2 meters at highest point of pitched roof.
Toilet and washing facilities: You have your own en-suite toilet and butler sink which are located within glass block partition walls and are accessible via cafe style swing doors.
Kitchen: You also have your own kitchen area where you can prepare breakfast and packed lunches. This consists of a wooden work top, crockery/cutlery for 2 people, mini fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave.
Breakfast: Sadly a cooked breakfast is not available but cereal, milk, tea, coffee will be waiting for you when you arrive. Food supplies are easily accessible with a Tesco local, 2 Co-ops, a vegetable shop and an Archie Browns within a 5 minute walk of the house.
Shared bathroom: Directly opposite the bottom of the stairs to your room is a spacious toilet and shower room which you are welcome to use.
Fire information: We have taken the following the steps to ensure that in the unlikely event of a fire you will be as safe as possible:
- Fire buckets and fire extinguishers have been installed on the first floor and in your room.
- Smoke alarms have been installed on the ground floor, first floor and in your room.
- The hatch door to your room has been made out of fire retardant 18mm plywood
- A fire escape rope ladder has been installed in your room.
Electricity: There is a £1 coin meter which supplies all the sockets in the room. This will be topped up with £5 which should be enough for your stay. However if you run out simply insert more coins and continue to enjoy your room.
You have access to your room, the shared bathroom, the corridor and stairs leading up to your room. Sorry, no access to the kitchen or other rooms in the house.
To reach your room you have to climb 2 flights of stairs so this type of accommodation may not be suitable for a person with a physical disability.
You will have a warm welcome and I will show you your room. I work from home most days so I am happy to chat either when you arrive or during your stay. My children Oliver (12) and Demelza (8) stay with me half of the week and they are very sociable and easy to get on with. My Fiancee Winnie is a Taiwanese artist, she is also very sociable and works from home as well. There will also be a kitten arriving soon but we don't know its name yet.
We have set up our basement as an artists studio and we occasionally arrange viewings of our work with potential buyers, but this will not happen very often. We also occasionally invite friends around for social events and you are welcome to join us if you feel sociable, but we fully understand if you prefer your privacy.
- For arrivals on Mondays the check-in hours will be between 5pm and 9pm
Having spent my formative years in West Cornwall I was finally lured back by the call of the sea 10 years ago after a career as a designer is London.
I love art and the creative process and I enjoy interaction with people. I now live in this beautiful 4 storey town house with my 2 children Oliver and Demelza and my fiancee Winnie.
It is a happy, creative home which I hope you will feel settles in and enjoy.
