Located in the heart of Beijing, this is our courtyard home which we have newly designed. While renovating, we tore down ceilings, built new walls, preserving historic architecture, but adding modern conveniences.
Our courtyard home has so much history and is a little treasure. It was built more than 100 years ago and served as the private residence of a diplomat.
We love chilling in the house, so peaceful, we can stay there all day. It is a good place to relax after a day of work or travelling in bustling Beijing. In the house, you will find that you have stepped back into history and that you have a little piece of heaven and private space. In the night it is so quiet, you can find inner peace. When you want to head out to explore, everything is within reach.
Siheyuan/Courtyard houses serve as a cultural symbol of Beijing and a window into its old ways of life.
We love food and can recommend the good places to eat and drink! We will also recommend good places of attractions depending on your interests.
If you wish, we are more than happy to be your friend. If you want your own privacy, be sure that we would not be of any disturbance.
Towels, soap and shampoo, clean drinking water, maps, masks for days when the skies aren't blue are all complimentary.

***For the benefit of our guests, whom we respect and want to provide a good experience, PLEASE read our house rules before booking.
You will find some info and guidelines in this section, written based on our experience, for the benefit of our guests, whom we respect and want to provide a good experience. We host people from everywhere with different culture, habits and preferences, we want to make sure that everyone is well taken care of and considered.
Please note that we have 4 rooms in this courtyard (Chinese bungalow) and there will be other guests in our home if the rooms are booked.
As we have jobs, we would not be in 24/7. This is our private home, which we love, and would like to share with others the experience, and we try our best to be as helpful as we can. This is not a hotel so if you expect hotel service, you have to look elsewhere. If you are looking to stay in a local home, to have the most Beijing experience. This in an authentic hutong house which has more than 100 years of history, preserved well and protected by the government as a heritage architecture.
Hutongs are unique to Beijing. While we open up our house to let the world experience this culture, we are mindful that all around us are regular Beijingers living their every day lives and continuing this tradition of living in Hutongs and courtyards. So we hope not to make their way of life an attraction, and bring them any inconvenience. We hope to host independent guests who can be respectful of our home and community.
While we have opened up our house, please do not treat us as your domestic helper. We appreciate kindness, courtesy and decency, just like you would.
We need you to be considerate to other guests in the courtyard by being hygienic, don't leave your trash or leftover food around if you are using the common space, but throw them into the bins. Please do not bring anyone who has not booked a room to the house, so that we can ensure this is a safe place for all.
We would not stay in the house every night but would visit the house every day. We remain contactable on airbnb and will definitely be responsive and helpful.
I am a simple person who enjoys life, travelling and meeting new people from different backgrounds. To me, Nothing beats home-cooked food and a good laugh.
I also enjoy architecture. I had spent months re-designing and renovating my hutong home which I hope will be a unique Beijing experience for my guests.
I chose to live in Beijing as it is full of character, history, culture and life. There are so many opportunities and things going on every hour. It is where old meets new, and fuse together beautifully and uniquely.
I am more than happy to be your friend in Beijing, whether or not you stay with me, just feel free to message me! I will try my best to assist you if you have any queries.
Through Airbnb I have had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life from all over the world and I look forward to meeting you, yes you!
For my lovely guests, do treat my house like your own, and take good care of it. Beyond the smog, traffic jams, hoards of people, language barrier (foreigners) etc, I hope that you would be open-minded and discover the amazing city of Beijing. God bless you!
