Foxton Beach being 90 mins north of Wellington and is a good rest stop from the ferry. It is 15 mins to Levin, 5 mins to Foxton, 20mins to Shannon, and 30 mins to Palmerston North. Foxton Beach is a laid back settlement of 2000 people, and is noted for its driftwood-strewn beach with spectacular sunsets, kite-surfing, and world-renowned bird sanctuary on the Manawatu estuary.
There are two restaurants and two take-aways with quality food.
This B&B is sited in a safe, secure area.
You will not only have a top class bedroom with ensuite and large dressing room, but also your own private lounge and dining area that overlooks a large garden. Here you have your own TV with plenty of DVD's, music, and a library of books. Alternately you may dine with your hostess in her very sunny dining area overlooking a different part of the garden. This makes it very suitable for more than one night's stay.
Gust access is private from a parking area overlooked by security lights.
I am always available for help, advice, and a private tour of Foxton Beach for any guests staying more than one night, ( if requested). Your privacy is assured.
Your host is trained to teach basic English so an extended stay offers lessons at $20 per hour extra.
I have a small, very friendly dog (a snautzer/poodle cross) who lives inside. He is restricted to my area of the house, but if you wish to interact with him, he will oblige with much tail wagging.
- No cooking allowed outside the kitchen which can be shared by negotiation.
- No smoking inside, but okay outside.
- No extra guests (parties etc.)
-The room will be checked before guests leave to ensure nothing is left behind and is in the same condition as found.
Friendly retired lady who enjoys meeting new people and working in my big garden (which I am in the process of developing). I also enjoy cooking, reading, painting and writing. I have a friendly little dog called Jackson. We often walk together on the beach or along the estuary, both of which are truly beautiful at sunset.
I was brought up in Australia, but have lived in NZ for a very long time. I enjoy travel in NZ and intend to do more in the future. I am a retired school teacher and volunteer twice a week at the local school to help those with literacy problems.
I have only just started this Bed and Breakfast as I shifted here only six months ago. Previously I lived in Raglan overlooking the sea, and left this beautiful place to be closer to my children.
As your host I will offer as much interaction or privacy as initiated by you. I offer good value as half the house is yours to enjoy. It is not just a bedroom with ensuite. It has a large private lounge with TV and a library, and a dining table to eat or work at.
