This Villa, which was formerly a Medieval Chapel and situated on the St Francis of Assisi Way (near the ancient town of Citerna) has been creatively restored and is in a serene and peaceful location. This Villa demonstrates how the very old with the modern, with an ingenious "touch of flair". The creative elements of the decor & modern design integrate completely with the furnishings. This Villa is a religious building and therefore in an elevated position with spectacular views over open countryside.
This Villa is on two floors. On the ground floor you find a wonderful and colourful entrance hall, leading to the a downstairs lounge area, bathroom, the modern and beautiful kitchen with access doors to the outside and shaded terrace and the gardens. A wide staircase takes you to the first floor, where there is a second lounge area, 2 of the three bedrooms, the second bathroom, study and access to the Chapel itself. A climb up a spiral staircase in the lounge area brings you to the third bedroom in the attic space of the Villa. The Villa is unusual, full of bright colours, elegant and spectacular stained glass doors, wonderful views over the garden, the pools and surrounding countryside.
This Villa's perfect location finds you on the Umbrian/Tuscan border, north of Perugia but close to the historical and medieval cities of Citta di Castello, Arezzo, Florence & Siena.
This part of Umbria is a much loved and noted destination for relaxation, healthy living and extraordinary scenery. Above all, it is an area famous for it's excellent food, wine, olive oil, truffles, chocolate, cheeses and cured meats and famously known as "the Green Heart of Italy".
The Villa offers two pools, (one being a hydro-massage pool with cascading waterfalls), spacious terraces and pergolas, with a large open fire for outside cooking and dining.
The Villa has private parking, a large immaculate & extremely private garden and remote controlled entrance gates and outside garden lighting.
The nearest small town is Petriolo which is a 10 minute walk from the Villa. The Medieval Borgo town of Citerna is approximately a 10 minute drive away.
Other places of interest and within 15 minutes of the Villa are : Anghiari, Citta di Castello, Monterchi & Sansepolcro.
A bit further afield but still within a commutable distance from the Villa are Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Arezzo & Siena.
As stated above there are a number of towns close and within a 10 minute drive to this Villa. All have good local shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, post offices, fashion clothing and shoes with weekly or daily markets.
The Pools are a short distance from the Villa and can be seen from the Villa itself. There are outdoor terraces with a stone wood burning fireplace for outside cooking & dining. All wood for the fire will be provided to the guests by the Owner.
The generous owner/Agent of this Villa will welcome you with an overwhelming basket of local products for you to enjoy during your stay and will not be in addition to the rental price.
In addition, for any confirmed booking for more than 7 nights, an evening meal will be cooked, served & gifted to you by the owner. A full linen and towel change will also be included in the rental price and will take place at the end of the first week.
All parts of the Villa, the gardens and pools are all accessible to guests
Caroline will be here at the Villa to meet you at your arrival time and will be on call with help and information when needed. She will assist guests with providing local knowledge of the best places to visit during your stay.
There are many local markets, art, local town & music festivals throughout the Spring and Summer months. They area is great for walking, trekking & cycling. You are reasonably close to the coast, National Parks and some of the World's famous art galleries
Smoking is only permitted in outside areas and never inside the Villa itself.
