Welcome to the heart of Kensingtont Market, Toronto's most vibrant downtown neighbourhood! My bright, new apartment is tucked away in a courtyard steps from "mom and pop" food and clothing shops, trendy cafes, & the best people-watching in the city.
If you're looking for an oasis in the middle of Toronto's most vibrant neighbourhood, you'll find it here.
In addition to location (location, location), the apartment itself is a one-of-a-kind gem - a private walk-up in a brand new building set back from the bustle of the street. There is a full vegetarian kitchen, air conditioning, a laundry machine, and Wifi internet. There is a city parking garage about 20 metres from the apartment and there is 24-hour access to the apartment keys on the day of your arrival.
This listing is for the entire apartment - in that, if you book it here, I will lock up my room + stay elsewhere during this time. Unless you'd like me to stick around to offer more active hosting - in which case, I can do that, too :)
Since I'm usually here when I'm hosting, you'll find more reviews of this space under the individual room listings: https://www.airbnb.ca/users/reviews_new/569339
Kensington Market (this place is located right in the heart of it) is one of Toronto's most interesting, eclectic, and friendly neighbourhoods. On most visitors’ list of places to check out when in Toronto, the area often ends up being the highlight. Home to a diverse community of artists, musicians and activists, Kensinton fosters a unique sense of community for locals and tourists alike.
Its variety of cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and vintage stores are worth checking out, whether you're here for a month or a weekend. Just outside the apartment you can find all kinds of specialty cheese stores, dried goods, bakeries, fruit and vegetable stalls, and food from around the world. You can walk around enjoying the atmosphere or hang out in nearby Bellevue Square Park. Chinatown is right around the corner and the University of Toronto, Art Gallery of Ontario and other attractions are within walking distance.
The market is always bustling with tourists and locals, and on summer weekends you can often find live music and performers on the street. If you happen to be here on the last Sunday of the month for Pedestrian Sunday (May-Oct), the market will be closed to cars and there will be a variety of musicians and performers lining the streets.
I am a queer/friendly Torontoian open to hosting considerate guests of any nationality, sexual orientation, etc., who are willing to respect my home and "house rules" (including not smoking tobacco indoors, eating/preparing meat at home, or making excessive noise). I will try to make accommodations for your comfort and abilities where possible, but for those with mobility issues, please note that the apartment is on the 2nd floor and accessed via an outdoor staircase.
Thanks for checking out this listing - looking forward to hearing from you :)
