My place is close to parks, nature, hiking, fishing, supermarket, liquor store, restaurants, antiquing, flea markets, art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the cedar smell of the bathroom, the Kripplebush Creek, the tire swing, the trampoline, the birds, the coziness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The Storefront apartment is the oldest section of our home, built in 1840 as the James Wood Store & Inn. It functioned as the local general store and post office, and provided overnight lodging to stagecoach passengers. The space remained commercial through the mid-20th century; some old-times can still remember sitting around the pot-bellied stove among the feed bags and trading stories. It was converted to an apartment in the 1970s, and we brought it into the new millennium with a primary-color paint job, a new bedroom and bathroom (converted from the 1960s-era sauna put in by a family of Finns), and a lot of love. The kitchen-living room is spacious and comfortable, the bedrooms can comfortably house a family or small group of friends, and there is even an activity table for little ones.
You are welcome to park in the common parking area, and to enjoy the backyard with its tire swing, trampoline, and creek side patio with double glider. There is a Frisbee field across the street as well, to the left of the little white church, which we encourage you to enjoy!

There is some chance that the rest of the house will be occupied during your stay. Although your apartment is completely private, there can be "acoustic bleed" between the apartment and the main house. Please be courteous of your fellow residents.
We welcome your well-behaved dog, but we do have to charge a $75 pet fee to cover post-pet cleaning.
