Maine the way life is supposed to be, it's not just a slogan at River Chase. Enjoy the ever changing tides of the salt water w/ 260 ft of private river frontage. Watch as a Bald Eagle perches in a nearby tree or as boaters navigate to the Atlantic Ocean. We are minutes away from the Rockland Harbor which hosts the Blues Festival & Lobster Festival, great shopping, museums and many restaurants. River Chase has 1600 sq ft of completely renovated house to give you a clean and modern yet comfy feel.
River Chase Cottage is a quiet relaxing environment completely surrounded by nature. If you lucky in the morning you can see the neighborhood Bald Eagle perched on the tree limb by the shore or watch as the wild turkeys make their way for breakfast. See the boats as they head up and down river to start the day as the sun rises over the waterfront. Grab your coffee and sit down on the granite bench by the water or walk to the shoreline and sit on the ledge hidden away from life's worries and noise.
River Chase has a completely renovated interior with all modern conveniences and yet still has the old cottage feel. You will simply enjoy every minute of peace at River Chase. However when your mind and body wants to get moving you are just minutes away from shops, museums, sail boat rides and restaurants,. Oh did we mention Maine Lobster? Rockland is the Lobster Capital of the World. We hope to see you and your guest at our little get away.
As a guest you have the entire house this includes an available washer and dyer, plus a dishwasher, cable TV with over 100 channels and Wi-Fi . Complete access to a shared (with us when we are there) 260 feet of tidal waterfront, watch as the locals dig the flats during low tide or as the lobster and pleasure boats navigate the river to and from the Atlantic Ocean during high tide. Every hour is a different scene! You and your guest can relax and enjoy the large lawn great for games or roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.
We are always just a text message or call away should you have any questions, needs or want local advice for restaurants or sight seeing. Some weekends we stay on site in a smaller cottage by the water so an answer to a question or a glass of wine is only a short walk. However do not worry we respect your privacy and will not interact unless you want us to. Our only goal is to make your stay so great that you come back again.
Cushing was the summer town of Andrew Wyatt and the town is still as beautiful as when he painted it. The Mid Coast area is a great place to vacation and Cushing is a great mix of both worlds. Enjoy the busy streets in the tourist towns of Rockland and Camden and then at the end of the day slip back to River Chase for some quiet time. When visiting in the Mid Coast you can visit the Farnsworth museum or try out the many restaurants and shops, take a sail boat cruise or a ferry to an island. Visit Monhegan Island, the island of artist or spend a day at the Owls Head Transportation museum or visit several light houses in the area. A little way further north and you come to Camden where the mountains meet the sea. A town famous for its harbor and shopping. The only problem you will have while staying at River Chase is finding time to do everything you want to, so we suggest adding a few more days to your vacation! We hope to see you soon.
Please note we have the small cottage partially in front of the rental cottage roughly 75 feet away. Some days we are there, some days we are not, as this is not our year around residence. We have a very friendly but energetic Golden Doodle named Cooper. He calms done within a few minutes of meeting everyone.
We are also required to collect a state lodging tax of 9% which is collected separately either prior to or at check in by cash or check
My wife and I are active runners who have run several marathons and many half marathons. We also enjoy renovating and restoring old homes. In fact our cottage is our most recent reno. When not running or working we can be found down by the water enjoying a drink and the view.
