Jerry, the boat builder, former whale boat operator, and builder of the Whale Watcher House, lives next door with Amanda, his partner, and the friendliest of Black Labs – Maggie. The latter will welcome you home at the end of every day with hopes of a dog biscuit or some such leftover shining in her eyes. Half the time there is a new litter in the barn! Or a boat being built; or a story being told.
The apartment is totally yours...mini kitchen, private deck with unsurpassed views...sleeping accommodation for 2 (or 4)...and 2 bathrooms. Elaine, the owner, is next door should you need her.
Entry to each unit is discreet, via a coded lock thus allowing flexible check in and check out convenience. There are no obstacles, no real stairs, and no obvious barriers to occupancy. The units, however, are not wheelchair accessible.
There is at the side of the property, a communal sitting area for those who would like to convene at the end of a day; there is a common BBQ on the property as well.
There is a clothesline and the promise of a sea breeze to dry out your hiking things should you wish to avail of it. Otherwise hooks abound to dry your things inside. We may be able to do a load of laundry for you in the owner’s quarters.
