Villa Alexina is unique, it offers a rare opportunity to stay in an original Corfiot house, lovingly restored by it's owners. It is a typical Durrell house, often visited by Gerald Durrell's widow and base for Durrells in Corfu.
Villa Alexina is particularly attractive to families or groups of friends. There are many child friendly and safety aspects, such as lockable gates to the pool and lower grounds. Ample outdoor terraces and patios are loved by groups wanting their own space. Paradise!
We are now letting rooms out in the Spring and Autumn offering those who have discovered the wonderful walks, climate and charm of Corfu outside the summer season. Prices for April, May, September and October are per room.
July and August pricing is for the whole villa.
Travelers will have their own room and bathroom. They can share the well equipped kitchen, lounge and the outside areas, including the swimming pool. There is also a large Olive Press which will hopefully be ready as a games room/wet weather space.
The owners run ecology weeks in collaboration with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, so are very knowledgeable on the wildlife and flora and fauna in the countryside of Corfu. They are also experienced villa cooks and will be happy to organise a meal or BBQ for a special occasion or night in.
Villa Alexina affords the most spectaular views over the olive trees down to the sea with Albania in the distance - perfect sunsets. This is not a tourist area, but is en route to the ancient deserted village of Anno Perithia which is worthy of a visit and the chance to eat local village food - recommended and featured by Rick Stein. Often in Autumn and Spring there is a visiting Opera company as well as the Corfu Beer Festival in October.
Although we do not permit smoking inside the villa, there is ample outdoor spaces, including covered space for inclement weather
