The Hacienda lifestyle awaits you on this 2 acre organic farm. This home is an architect's dream--built by the famous adobe architect, John Calvin. It features double wall brick adobe (that is 2 feet!) which creates an almost church-like quiet serenity. You will be dazzled by the beautiful craftsmanship of the ceilings which are all made of vigas and latillas. 2 kivas, a sunny breakfast nook, never-ending-ceilings in the great room, fruit trees, stable.
The farm is nestled in between the acequia system (little rivers) of the Rio Grande. There are numerous running, biking, horse back riding, and walking trails that follow the different rivers and canals. You will be in the "green belt" of New Mexico where agriculture reigns king. The town's farmers market is the best in the state-most produce is cultivated and harvested under organic practices. There are no street lights in order to let the stars shine bright at night. In the fall and winter you will smell the sweet scent of wood burning stoves and kivas welcoming you home.
We will stay in the casita during your stay and will be available for questions. We are veteran AirBnB hosts and travelers, so we know that each guest has their own preference of interaction style and quantity and are very accommodating. We are just as happy having family-style dinners with you and taking you on our favorite hikes as we are handing over the keys and letting you do you.
No smoking inside of the house. If you need to smoke you must do so outside and dispose of all cigarettes. No drugs allowed. Please bring your own food to cook with--our food is not communal.
Howdy! We are a multi-cultural couple living in Corrales, New Mexico. I am from the Midwest and have lived in Chile, Argentina and Colombia. My husband is from Mexico and has spent much of his life living in Denver. We love all things related to the outdoors. By day you will find us hiking on all the beautiful trails around our town. By night you will find us dancing salsa, bachata, and Cumbia at local Latin dance spots. We practice an open and respectful community. Everyone is truly welcome in our home.
