Large bedroom, with private facilities in our 17th century farmhouse set right on the moor, sea views, wild moorland, wildlife, wonderful walking, peaceful and quiet. Our gate opens straight onto the moor. I think you will love my place because of the outdoors space, the stunning views, the comfy bed, the friendly service, cooked breakfast, cream tea, the tranquility, the views, the big skies, the stars. Plenty to see and do and great places to eat out.
Sparrowhawk is a big bedroom with queen size bed with comfy mattress, vanity unit, tv, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, chairs, private facilities, including victorian bathroom and separate toilet. Downstairs there is a sitting room with sky tv and dining room.
There is a siiting room with sky tv , dining room, pretty garden, 10 acres of meadow, the moorland starts just outside the gate and there is off road parking.
I am happy to help in any way I can, recommend places to eat/visit and answer any questions you may have. I can usually be found in the garden.
This is a truly beautiful and unspoilt area, dark sky reserve, wild moorland and coast, hidden beaches and picturesque villages. There are sea views from the house and the walking is fantastic.
No smoking in the house, breakages must be paid for, no dogs to be left alone in rooms unless crated, dogs on leads around house and garden, but can run free in the fields. All dog mess to be picked up around garden/house. If arriving late please be sympathetic to other guest who may be sleeping. Thank you.
I have been running a successful riding holiday center for 28 years. I loved having guests and showing them the wonderful sights of Exmoor on horseback. However the horses and I are all getting on a bit so I decided we needed a change of direction. I like to share this beautiful place with others, so while the horses enjoy their retirement in the meadows I have opened my home to guests.
I am mad about gardening and wildlife, my two dogs and my horses. I have a large garden where I spend a lot of my time. I love exploring new places with the dogs or on horseback, watching the wildlife here from the majestic red deer to the soaring buzzards. I like visiting open gardens, stately homes, travelling to new places in the UK and abroad. I like reading a variety of books, if I have a favourite it would probably be Lord of the Rings. I like to watch a wide range of programmes on TV and go to the movies as often as possible.
I am a friendly and helpful host, happy to show you around and answer any questions, then I will leave you in peace unless you need anything. You will probably find me in the garden, where I encourage the amazing wildlife we have here. (Not totally happy about Mr Mole and Mrs rabbit creating havoc in the garden though)
