Conveniently situated in a quiet and serene pocket town in Ilocos Norte called Vintar, my grandmother's house is very ideal for families and big groups looking for a place to stay in for a night or two. Vintar is located between the city of Laoag and the town of Bacarra. Also, it is closer to Burgos or Pagudpud than Laoag is which makes it an ideal location.
We can arrange a service which will pick your group up or drop your group off from/in Laoag or the airport for a small fee.
You'll be able to access all rooms in the house.
I am currently staying in Australia so I would not be able to personally greet you guys when you arrive in our lovely abode. However, I will send someone (a relative of mine) to personally welcome you in my behalf and give you a quick tour around the house. After the tour, the house will all be yours. If you need anything during your stay, you may definitely communicate it to me or communicate it directly to my relative who will welcome you.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood, a little bit far from the city but close to the ricefields and the river. So if what you are looking for is some place that is peaceful, quiet and close to the nature, our place can definitely address those requirements! Nonetheless, the town where the house is located is just a 15 to 20-minute drive from Laoag.
I love this place so much as it reminds me of those lovely and memorable times I spent here as a kid when we vacay in Ilocos. With this, we just want our future guests to take care of the place as if it is their own.
I am an engineer by profession and I blog about my travels and food escapades in my blog during my free time. I read books for pleasure. I love foreign movies, particularly French and Spanish movies. I do not dig those overhyped Hollywood movies but I am interested instead in indie movies and slow-paced movies that let me think and contemplate. I love, love, love food! I try new restaurants and new dishes just for sake of trying new things and I do appreciate a lot of cuisines. I particularly love Spanish and Japanese cuisine. The best meal I had was when I was in Toledo, Spain 3 years ago with my friends. We ordered some Paella, Callos and Duck Meat and I have not forgotten that gastronomic experience ever since!
I usually travel with my family and we often stay in hotels that is why Airbnb is such a whole new world to me. I hope to meet amazing guests and hosts through this though! What I particularly am excited about Airbnb is that the hosts are locals. Whenever I am in a certain location, I see to it that I do what the locals do, eat what the locals eat and go where the locals go. I am more for the cultural experience of a certain place and I want to experience the city for how it really is. So I think having locals as a host is a very appealing concept to me!
I dream to travel the world and experience more what this life has to offer. I strongly believe in seizing the day and doing what you can already now before it is too late to do so.
