Historic home located in the peaceful neighborhood of Miami Shores. Huge yard, barbecue area, multiple parking spaces, pet-friendly (we have one large dog).
Centrally located: 10 min from the beach, 15-20 min from downtown/Brickell.
The room itself is fairly small and has the basics: queen bed, small dresser, closet.
The house was built in 1925 and is one of the oldest still standing in Miami. It is designated by Historic Preservation Miami as a historic site for retaining its original coral rock exterior, wood flooring, light fixtures, and entry arches. It's survival is deemed an "anomaly, a survivor despite the burgeoning pressures of development, increase in taxes, and insurance". HPM distinguishes the home for "exemplifying cultural and social trends of the community, embodying characteristics and methods of constructions unique to its architectural period, and containing elements of design, detail, and craftsmanship which represent a significant innovation to the south Florida area". In 2002, it was recognized in the Miami Herald as a home which is a sign of Miami's roots.
Guests have access to the living and dining room, the garage for laundry or for storage, and the backyard/party room.
I enjoy conversing, dining, or having a beer with guests as much as I can. I am studying medicine full time in PA school, so I am not always home at the time of arrival (some guests may never see me at all). However, I carry my phone on me 24/7 to be able to give detailed instructions to get in the house, provide suggestions, and help with any issues.
Must love dogs! We have a big fluffy German shepherd, male, neutered, very calm and quiet. We also have a jack Russell puppy. The two mostly stay on our side of the house, but you will see them roaming around from time to time. This place is probably not for you if you're not a dog person;)
