Our stay at the Eagle Cottage was absolutely charming and lovely. Joanne are her adorable little son Charlie were warm, kind, and very welcoming.
Located in a quiet forest nook before you reach the main town of Arisaig, the cottage is the first home that you come to and is attached to the main home where Jo and her family live. It's a beautiful cottage with a traditional Scottish harl style exterior, clean lines. The interior is decorated in a charming, simple, and welcoming style. My wife and I both felt like the stress that we had been carrying from the build up to the wedding melted away as soon as we walked into the cottage.
Before we ventured into town for dinner, we stepped out of the cottage and enjoyed an amazing costal walk along the Arisaig shoreline, where we saw an ENTIRE family of deer, a golden Scottish sunset, and the most epic views of craggy cliffs.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I'd slept on and after soaking in a huge bathtub with steaming hot water up to our chins under the scottish stars that we could see from the skylight, we drifted off to a blissful sleep.
In the morning we were met with a lovely breakfast spread that had been stocked in the fridge before we arrived by Jo.
The cottage is as described and more. The beautiful floors are heated and everything from the bread tin to the piano is warm and inviting.
I've used AirBnB only once before and it was not a very good experience. Our previous host was obtrusive and cold. We were very leery about trying AirBnB again, especially during my honeymoon, however the experience that we had at the Eagle Cottage will be the reason that we will continue to try AirBnB. Jo and family were incredible hosts - around if needed but provided privacy.
Thank you Jo and family for being incredible hosts. We will certainly be back!
