Join us in our home. It's a historic red brick built in 1882, with three fire places, high ceilings, a new kitchen, a beautiful sun porch. Walkable to the CTA, the lake +bike path [ 2 bikes incl.] and a quick 10 minute drive from the loop McCormick place. We have worked to fill our home with the fun and interesting art, furniture and artifacts that make a house a home. We invite you to stay and enjoy our home, neighborhood and city. In the words of Tom Waits, Come on up to the house...
You will have one of 4 bedrooms on the second floor with access to your own bathroom. We have a cat named Smooshy. He is chill, doesn't feel any entitlement to your room.
You have access to the entire house, including the kitchen, two living rooms and sunroom.
As Chicago locals, we love sharing information and directions to our favorite off the beaten path restaurants, shops, entertainment and more shops.
We have a cat names Smooshy but he has no sense of entitlement to your room. We are about 10 minutes from the lake and lake path which can be walked/biked/run directly into the loop or south to historic Hyde Park.
I am a 30 year old Chicago native. I spent a few years traveling after school and doing seasonal archaeology in Alaska. I moved back to Chicago in 2007 to do research, I get to travel the country, and planet when I'm lucky, interviewing strangers about their lives. In my free time I love to take advantage of all that Chicago has to offer, including a fantastic lake two blocks from the house. I also sit on the board of a new non-profit art organization - - check us out
I have been in the house for four years this winter, which happens to mark the 100th birthday of the house. I have been really lucky in that time to be able to fill it with great people, bright colors and interesting things. I love Chicago, and I love sharing it with good people. I look forward to hearing from you.
