This studio is in the heart of everything: only a 0.5 mi/0.8 km walk to downtown, where you'll find the stunning IU campus, incredible restaurants, local breweries, art venues, a theater and more. Centrally located, you're in a peaceful historic neighborhood near the B-line Trail, perfect for a calming stroll or bike ride. Your home away from home is a combination of modern and historic with a private kitchen and bathroom, shared laundry room, cable and a wooded back yard.
The house was built in the 1800s and has large historic windows, wooden trim and other charming details. You'll be in a separate studio with a private entrance located in our 0.36 acre backyard. There's a full size bed with fresh sheets, a private kitchen with pots, pans and other basics, a private bathroom with clean towels and a shared laundry room.
Your patio furniture awaits in the backyard where you can enjoy your morning coffee and a light breakfast in a wooded, serene area, with opportunities to spot local birds. If you need a break from exploring Bloomy to decompress, we offer a flatscreen tv with cable. Wifi is readily available and internet can easily be arranged if you need a more secure connection.
For the hipster in you, a record player has been provided with a few records for you to try out. We have a couple of great local record stores if you'd like to peruse more options to try out on the device. My husband is an avid English Premier League fan so you will be able to enjoy soccer from your suite, or from our living room if you'd like to share your love of soccer. Street parking is easily available.
Feel free to use the entire studio, it's yours! You can use the backyard as you see fit too. The laundry room is shared. If you'd like to use it, please let us know in advance so we can get you all set up. Know that since there is a cat in the main part of the house, there is likely to be some fur in there (*allergen warning).
We are happy to leave you to your own adventures, but are available if you need anything. Always feel free to contact us, for any reason! If you are interested in having a local tour guide/friend, that can be arranged as well :-)
We love meeting people from all different backgrounds and from all over the world (international students and scholars especially). We welcome couples, solo adventurers and families. For stays of less than one week, we'll provide all the fixings for french pressed coffee, tea and a light breakfast.
No inside smoking please. If you will be bringing the youth, let us know so we can provide whatever bits of home you need, as available (e.g. - a pack 'n play, basket of toys and books, outlet plugs).
Hi! I'm a wife, mom and foodie transplant to Bloomington, IN from Charleston, SC. I love to explore cultural gems - restaurants (obviously), museums, parks, you name it. I'm an international student and scholar advising expert and consider myself lucky to be able to meet people from all over the world on a regular basis. I'm clean and respectful and LOVE travel. Anything else that you'd like to know, please feel free to ask!
