I met and had contact with only Bradley throughout the month that I stayed in the Serenity Shack. Check in was fine, B offered a window of time that he was available, and he was present when I arrived.
Check in was easy, Bradley was very friendly and gave me a tour of the property.
B was also very easy to reach by text, and always responded.
The shack is very cute inside, and bigger than I expected from the pictures.
The unit included a good mini fridge and microwave, with access to the stove inside the main house.
Air conditioning worked well.
Location was great, convenient to highways and downtown scottsdale
THIS IS NOT A "Whole place to your self". THERE IS NO PRIVATE ACCESS TO RUNNING WATER AT ALL. I was very disappointed to learn when I arrived that the outdoor shower and sink were non-functional. I was provided access to the facilities inside the main house, making this much more like a detached PRIVATE ROOM rather than a "whole place."
I was asked by the host to keep the air conditioning unit off when I was not home, which was incredibly inconvenient in the middle of summer. I had to keep my heat sensitive makeup and medications in the fridge, and hope that my instruments wouldnt take too much damage being in 150 degree heat while i was gone.
The main house was also never air conditioned. This made bathing and using the bathroom very uncomfortable, and cooking pretty much not an option.
WiFi was very weak in the shack, as it is far from the house.
There is a black widow problem. I don't really mind spiders, but they liked to build their webs right across the walking path, and hang out in the middle. After contacting B about the problem several times, his repeated promises to have it taken care of were not fulfilled while I was a tennant.
There is NO outdoor lighting for the path to the shack, so at night I was duel wielding my phone flashlight, and the broom I used to scare off the widows.
When the sunshade over my door became detached, nobody cared to fix it.
The shack is secured with a padlock only. It did NOT lock from the inside. The only thing to close it was a small hook and eye that was stripping from the wall, and could have easily been forced open.
I would not recommend this place. Bradley was very friendly, and appeared accommodating. However, for the same price I could have gotten a private room in an air conditioned house without spiders.
