St Margarets, near Thames: lovely shabby chic cottage on a quiet street of Victorian terraced homes. Vintage curios, clean, spacious. Lush garden. Richmond Lock 10 min walk along beautiful towpath, train 30 mins to Waterloo.
Our house is unique, airy and bright, well-worn but charming and functional, on a street popular with couples, families and artists. It is very much a home for a family with 5 children, so there are toys and books galore, for ages 5 - 12. We have two reception rooms: The Sitting Room is cosy with open fireplace and TV, The Living Room is open-plan to the kitchen, dining area, laundry room and garden. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite bathroom and overlooks the garden. Bedroom 2 sleeps 2, on a narrow single bed (2"), and a single raised bunk bed, there is also plenty of floorspace in bedroom 2 for a double air-bed, should you need it. Bedroom 3 has a narrow (2' wide) single bed. Bedroom 4 has a standard single (6' x 2'6") divan bed and a skylight to the front of the house. There is a 5th bedroom, also with a single mattress on the floor, which over looks the garden, should it be needed. The top floor has been recently converted to give 3 bedrooms and a 2nd bathroom.
Our road has free parking, though it is sometimes hard to find a space right outside late in the evening, especially on Sunday nights. We are situated in what is known locally as North St Margarets, a district of Twickenham on the edge of Richmond borough, near where it borders into Isleworth, and across the river from Kew Gardens.
Minimum stay - 4 nights in July and August, 2 nights the rest of the year.
