We rented the Garden Suite (and relatives rented the upper house) for over a week. Our experience with this rental is somewhat mixed.
Overall, the Garden Suite is spacious, clean, well furnished, and the house is in a quiet affluent neighborhood. And check-in information was provided a few days in advanced, and it was highly informative with all relevant information provided.
However, upon check-in, we noticed that the living room was unkempt, and then to our surprise, the beds were all clearly slept in. Additionally, as relatives had rented the upper house, we had requested that the door connecting the two units be unlocked, and this was not done. Martine responded within approx. 30 minutes to our texts and phone calls. She promised to send a cleaner over to rectify the situation. She assured us that they have spare sheets and towels, so that clean linens would be used to make up the suite. This happened around 530pm on a Friday afternoon, and by the time we returned from dinner, the suite was indeed cleaned and made up. Although the problem was quickly rectified, it should not have happened in the first place, causing us undue stress (a few of us arrived from an overseas flight and wanted to rest)!
Otherwise, all went well with our rental until our return home. We received messages and calls from Martine alerting us to a notice received by the owner of the house that there was illegal download of a movie during our stay, resulting in a penalty fee. This took us by surprise, and upon checking with all who stayed, we requested additional documentation for this alleged illegal download. Suffice it to say that the document shows the date of download is UNRELATED to the timing of our stay. However, due to a miscommunication between the owner of the house and Martine, we are not yet "off the hook". We are awaiting confirmation that we are not responsible for the illegal download nor the penalties, based on the date stated on the notice, and would like a formal apology for the additional stress placed upon us for this error.
