Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices.

(We can't list our website here, but if you want to see what we are about look us up on line: the full farm name, then a dot, then the three letters that come after the dot!)

Our camp sites are in a secluded, natural area of the farm surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields and a spring-fed pond. The four unique sites are placed out of direct line-of-sight from one another, giving you personal space and privacy. Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the songs of bluebirds and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing.

The Pines Site is a natural clearing in the woods, set away from the shared central campground area near the start of a hiking trail. It's nicely private but still convenient to shared central campground area. The site has a private fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill and room for up to three tents for your party. The Pines is a great choice for groups of friends, families, or couples. A maximum of three tents and eight people can be accommodated in this site.

The rate for this site is based on campers bringing their own tents. If you prefer, we can set up a nylon pole tent for an additional charge (subject to availability).

We provide a jug of drinking water, a simple portable hanging solar camping shower, one stack of firewood per night, and a grill chimney starter for your private use. You should bring a secure cooler for storing your food – never store food inside tents. Charcoal for the grill and extra firewood are available for purchase. We have a small selection of coolers and other assorted camping gear available to rent if needed.

You'll also have shared use (shared with other three campsites) of the central campground area, which includes a clean port-a-potty with handwashing area and a small camp kitchen stocked with additional water, propane camping stove, coffeemaker, and basic cookware. Enjoy games of horseshoes, badminton, wiffle ball and a whirl on our giant tractor-tire swing!

The campground is rustic and off-the-grid, which is part of the draw and enjoyment. There is no running water, no electricity or wi-fi, and cell phone service may be spotty (guests have access to running water in the farm yard, 1/4 mile from camp sites). No private vehicles are allowed in the campground. It's a beautiful, natural space with a secluded and intimate feel.

Upon arrival, check in at the barn in the main farm yard and leave your car there – private vehicles are not allowed past this point. The campground is an easy 1/4 mile walk from the farm yard. We provide you with a hand-pulled wagon to use throughout your stay.

To fully experience your farm stay we invite you to explore and participate in farm activities. Meet friendly chickens in the farm yard, help with morning chores and harvest, walk through gardens, and hike the marked trails around the 52-acre property – all of this is included in your nightly rate!

On weekend mornings we offer farm breakfasts for an additional fee, featuring a variety of homemade baked goods and dishes prepared from homegrown, local, & organic ingredients. You can also purchase fresh homegrown produce, eggs, chicken, preserves, and more from our farmstand. We can put a dinner basket together for you to grill at your site.

For those who want a deeper level of engagement, we offer a variety of unique tours and homesteading workshops for an additional charge. Check the board in the barn to see what is going on each day, or ask us about customizing a tour or workshop for your group. We love to share our farm with others and welcome your requests.

We live in the farmhouse on the property, adjacent to the farm yard and 1/4 mile from the camping area. You will have privacy but we are available if you need us. This is a working farm, so you will see us around the property working.

We have two farm dogs on the property, along with an array of farm birds and lots of wildlife. Please use common sense in interacting with all animals.

Check in time is 3:00 pm, check out by 11:00 am. We strongly recommend arriving before dark the first night for smooth check-in.

The base price for this site is based on up to four adults. Up to a maximum of eight adults can be accommodated ($6 per additional adult). There is no additional charge for children under 12 - but we do need to know who/how many are coming in your inquiry/reservation request (if you include children in your number of guests, Airbnb will factor that into the reservation price)

Well-behaved, fully vaccinated & leashed pets may be allowed at this site, with prior approval.

We can't wait to come back! Rachel and Eric were really gracious hosts who accommodated our schedule and had wonderful local recommendations for us. Rachel's breakfast is superb and the fresh produce they have available at their farm store is so good we went back twice to buy more! Camping in the Pines was a tidy, spacious campsite for tenters and hammockers and nicely tucked away from road noise.

We stayed in the Pines campsite over Memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely lovely! If you're looking for a quiet camping getaway - this is the place. It's relatively secluded, so you feel like you have privacy in the beautiful Catskills. The campsite is well equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill (!!), grilling utensils, citronella candle and a water jug. There's even a portable shower they offer as well. Just a side note - Tis the season for the bugs. This won't be foreign to any seasonal campers, but make sure to bring your bug spray! Eric & Rachel went above and beyond hospitality-wise. The breakfast that is offered on the weekends is incredibly delicious. Our group is still pining for it. Rachel even suggested a park for hiking that turned out to be so awesome - North South Lake. Very friendly and accommodating hosts overall! We'll certainly be back again!

The farm was a wonderful place to stay, Rachel and Eric have just started the campsites but they're in great working order and very well kept. If no shower facilities are a problem for you, you can pick up a sun shower for about $25 at an outdoors store. Definitely don't skip breakfast, Rachel does a fantastic farm-centered spread in the mornings. We arrived pretty late but Rachel was very accommodating and Eric found me an elusive early-season pumpkin from the fields so I can get started on some Pumpkin Ale! I couldn't recommend the site more, it's a great campsite and also a good way to get more in touch with how your food is produced, which is something we've all become fairly removed from in modern times.

Everything was perfect in foxtail farm. Very welcoming and good organization. And the breakfast is awesome!

Very nice people, and very accomodating.

Our group of 4 had a great weekend at the Wooded Site. Plenty of room to setup all of our gear. You get a nice private camping experience, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The porta-potty was nice and clean and is centrally located between all three sites. All three locations were out of sight of each other. The glamping site has a particularly majestic vibe at night with the provided lights and pond. We took a quick peek at it because it happened to be empty one night. There's also lots of mowed areas near the sites with trees in between, they really put a lot of effort into the whole place. You will pass a field on the way in, but other than that the scenery is very wooded around the sites, and much more hilly than it looks in the pictures. Rachel and Eric are available and helpful at all times if you happen to need anything. They have a farm store up near the property entrance where you can usually find them. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. We even had decent cell reception at our site (3G - verizon and cricket) We would definitely return for another visit in the future!

Rachel and Eric were absolutely wonderful hosts! Rachel met us when we arrived, even though it was late, and was very friendly and welcoming, offering to walk down to the site with us. The farm breakfasts were delicious, I highly highly recommend them if you can! The site was a 5 minute or so walk along a lovely shaded path and had everything we needed, and the port-a-potty was just across the road. It was lovely to chat with Rachel in the mornings about the local community. We will definitely return if we are in the area.

Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm - our homestead and working organic farm in rural Greenville New York in the Great Northern Catskills. We love to share our farm with visitors, and invite you to visit for a unique camping farmstay.

On the rare occasion we are able to travel away from the farm, we love using Airbnb as a way to meet other hosts, stay in real neighborhoods, and avoid chain hotels. We are pretty self sufficient guests, as long as there is access to coffee!
