Traditionally we welcome musicians, artists, gardeners and other eclectic folk though other interests welcome! No pets please and no smoking inside the property. All bills are included (water, gas, electric, wifi, council tax) and a deposit is required.
There is ample reception space in the main house comprising a wonderful vaulted ceiling Bath stone dining room, two receptions, spacious kitchen. There is a garden to the rear of the property as well as areas for growing produce if desired. Parking is available in the Market Place or for two cars at the property. There is also a self catering flat at the property run on air b and b (separate listing) which is from £75 per night.
I can help with various aspects of your stay including details of local places to eat, go out, make historical visits or escape into the beautiful countryside. I can be on hand to point out your immediate requirements though there is also a good detailed guide to the area.
The Chequers is an old and spacious building with all the charm and interest of its past. Some sound does travel between the floors though there is enough (vast!) space to travel to find quiet areas. Its an unusual setup as you will be staying with longer term tenants but they are great and mellow people. If you bump into the odd spider, I'm afraid that's part of living in an old bulding, thoug the place is very clean and warm throughout.
Please do not have parties but feel free to enjoy the log fire, piano and ambience of the place
I love living in Box and can highly recommend all that it this welcoming and creative community has to offer. I live closeby to the property and can offer advice according to all sorts of tastes or interests. I will also respect your privacy if its escape you are after. I run a cinema in the village with screenings and events that can be incorporated into your stay as well as being involved with the regular musical events. I am a mother of two children, a filmmaker
As a host I am good at interpreting guests requirements and ensuring noone misses a chance to do what they enjoy. I'm used to looking after actors at
