This is the best location in Los Angeles, very central, just minutes from all the action, but very peaceful and beautiful. Tree lined streets and multi-million dollar homes to enjoy on your morning or evening strolls.
Everything is minutes away, public transport is super easy, and if you like to walk, this is THE best neighborhood in LA. Walk 10 minutes to Larchmont Boulevard, a quaint 1950s style laid back village that only the locals know about... or walk 3 minutes in the other direction for some cultural and culinary fun in cosmopolitan Koreatown. Or walk north towards old Hollywood; Paramount Studios and great nightlife awaits.
Living room has huge windows which open out toward Hollywood and the hills. On a clear day, you'll wake up to a beautiful view over the city and the Hollywood sign. Nights are beautiful with the sparkling city lights.
Couches fold out to a comfy, firm bed. All together, they make a king size bed. Folding them is very easy, and they are very lightweight and easy to move around as you like. (see photos) The bed gives a firm, comfortable support.
Flat screen TV and DVD player, turbo speed wireless internet and radio with ipod dock.
There is a ceiling fan and another large fan to help keep the place cool. Floors are concrete throughout (except bathroom, which is tiled.)
Walk in closet with built-ins and vanity area.
The bathroom has a large tiled shower, a pedestal sink and a window... with a great view of the city!
There is a small dining area and a small kitchen.
The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, a toaster/convection oven, two electric burners, and plenty of shelves but no sink. It is very small but fully functional. However, if you really like to cook a lot, this might not be for you.
There is an elevator in the building. ;-)
Public transportation is easy, with several bus stops in just 3 minutes' walking distance and a metro station ten minutes away.
Hollywood and Silverlake are 5 minutes away.
Downtown or Beverly Hills, 10 minutes.
Nearest metro train station: Wilshire and Western
There are tons of restaurants and shops in very easy walking distance. A leisurely 15 minute stroll past curving streets and beautiful estates takes you to Larchmont, with tons of cafes, hair and nail salons, famous Larchmont Beauty Supply, bookstores, a great yoga studio, and even an amazing vegan restaurant (I am NOT a vegan or even a vegetarian, but this place is packed every night, it's that good!). There are at least 3 Italian restaurants, one Greek, 2 sushi, Mexican, a burger joint, some great breakfast places, and fun shopping.
Walk less than five minutes in the other direction and enter dynamic and cosmopolitan Koreatown and enjoy some fun cultural exploration. There you'll find tons of cafes open til the wee hours, several with very impressive beer selections, a sushi restaurant on a boat, Korean supermarket, Korean bbq, Vietnamese pho, and a few bars, including a classic old local hangout, complete with pool and jukebox.
Oh, and if you like to go out, there are some really great bars/clubs just a short taxi (or Uber!) ride away. I'm talking 1920s Paris with sexy shows, old school Hollywood hangouts, wonderful old Los Angeles local dives, dark gritty karaoke, and even New Orleans themed bars... or if you just want to walk to a dive bar or beer garden with a local crowd and super cheap drinks, I'll point you in the right direction!
There is a security deposit of $350, fully refundable.
Private accommodation in fantastic 1930s building with gorgeous view of the city and Hollywood sign. Very easy public transportation.
No smoking. You may smoke outside the building but nowhere on the premises. Not near an open window, not in the hallway.
Sorry, no pets.
Ideally one person, 2 is fine. No more than 2 bodies. It's just not a big space.
I am basically a southern California girl, although I've lived abroad and traveled on all continents but Antarctica! I love films, especially indie and French. I'm sort of a foodie, but I hate to cook, so when I'm home it's usually Cup o' Noodles! I speak Italian and some French, and would like to improve in both as well as take up another. I don't need a reason to travel, just a ticket! I love making friends from around the world and learning about other cultures.
