Enjoy this lovely room with great morning light just a stone's throw from Oakhurst village, a 15-minute walk to downtown Decatur, 7-minutes to public transit and about 500 yards from Atlanta's best doughnuts. Sounds good, right?
This room is in a craftsman style home in fantastic Oakhurst. Our home is on a quiet street in the middle of several fun neighborhoods and has a cozy style decor.
A spacious porch and backyard, eat-in kitchen, fresh coffee, and cozy nooks are all yours to enjoy. You are just a short trip away from Atlanta's coolest neighborhoods.
Check out the pictures and feel free to message us with any questions. We love our home and want you to enjoy it!
Guests have full control of the bedroom, which has a desk and a great collection of books. You also have access to the living room, kitchen, spacious back porch, backyard, and shared bathroom.
Guests are also welcome to use our washer, dryer and fridge.
You'll have a key and be able to come in and out when you like.
Daniel and I are both friendly people-people, and we love Atlanta. We are here to welcome each guest. We appreciate that some guests may have a lot of questions and some guests like private time.
That said, we'll be happy to tell you about our favorite spots, love answering questions, and will most likely be around for a cup of tea or some nibbles at some points during your stay.
We are both fairly busy and so mostly out of the house during the day and often in the evening.
Every airbnb listing is different and has its strengths and weaknesses. We put our energy into the overall positive experience of our guests which we believe is created by having friendly conversations, offering breakfasts and snacks, and giving advice on making the perfect trip to Atlanta.
Our house is home to a snuggly feline, Ada Fay, as well as us. She does not go in the guest bedroom, so if you are not a cat fan, she shouldn't bother you.
Hi! Thanks for checking us out. A little bit about us:
Hilary is an anthropologist, food activist, and general organizer. She is delighted to meet new people, go for long walks, eat ice cream, plant things. She speaks English and Spanish, and silly smiling gesturing language when those two do not suffice.
Daniel has been a medical student for the last 3 years. He's currently working as a professor and video lecture animator/narrator for students preparing for the US medical entrance exam. An aspiring doctor by trade and armchair philosopher by heart, he loves new perspectives, a well told story, and any good jokes you may have.
Hilary loves: Coffee, economic anthropology, knitting, making good food, people that are dear to me, cooperatives, board games, meeting new people, earl grey tea, cats, the world in general.
Daniel is Rather: Creative, analytical, good at fixing&building things, a science nerd, into sports and nature, curious about how stuff and people work--on the inside. He grew up with some amazing parents and spent a lot of time imagining, making tree forts with my buds, discovering new things outside an inside, dreaming big. Most of that stuff still occurs! He's also into kickboxing, artful sarcasm, playing guitar, and all things musical.
