Mike's place was everything i'd expected. Everything was one point. The communication between myself and the Mike the host was instant each and every time. I'm still shocked at how fast Mike was responded back to my booking on such sort notice. I booked around 11pm and Mike responded right away with the details I needed. My next visit to Ontario I wouldn't hesitate to book with Mike once again.

This was a cute and tidy little apartment. Although it's a basement unit the windows are big and the apartment bright. The kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to cook and clean. The bathroom was very clean. I stayed for 3 weeks with my 2 kids and it was perfect. Having access to Mike's backyard so the kids could play was and real asset. I will book again next summer.

Mike and Mary-Kate's apartment was awesome! They were very thoughtful when it came to setting up the apartment. They are great hosts and checked in to see how we were doing several times during our stay. Communication was very clear and instructions were easy to understand. They exceeded our expectations and I would gladly stay there again.

Absolutely perfect place to stay! The apartment was extremely clean and mike is an amazing host. He lives right across the street which made it easy to communicate with him. He also invited us to see his yard and it was awesome from chickens to his yarn tree. Can't wait to go back one day!

I was very satisfied with the apartment as it was very clean and well stocked with anything needed for a short or longer stay. The apartment is within comfortable walking distance, about 15-20 minutes, of the downtown area where there are restraints, shops, businesses, and the market center. Mike and his family were very helpful and responsive to any questions and issues that came up!

We are Mike and Mary-Kate. We care about creating an amazing, supportive community of people around us, local food, sustainable living, environmental design, and having a whole bunch of fun. We live in downtown Guelph, Ontario and are at the beginning stages of transforming our house and yard into an urban farm. We have three kids, Rowan (9), Sikhona (7), and River (5), a border collie (1)(Dash), 2 cats (Tiger & Luna), and about 12 laying hens.

We've loved watching our children learn to hold chickens, discover eggs, and develop a connection with their food. We're excited to help other people get backyard hens and believe there should be a chicken in every willing backyard in Guelph.

We have started the processing of transitioning our property to a "post peak oil" way of being. We have gutted our old stone house and have roughed in solar panels, solar hot water, greywater and to heat with a kachelofen. We are currently living in the beautifully designed and partially finished results of this long term planning. We are excited to try to determine how to grow and produce as much food as possible from our incredible property right in downtown Guelph. We have crazy ideas, and are loving every moment of living in possibility.

We own a 6-plex apartment building across the road from our house. Our aim is to fill this space with interesting, creative, inspired people who we will share our lives with. Around us, several friends have purchased houses and a community with intention has started to emerge as we are able to garden together, share child care, and help each other in a number of ways.

We also own a house in the neighbourhood that is set up as a hostel/ guest house to host volunteers and short term renters. This space enables us to host three volunteers at any one time. We have enjoyed a steady stream of really awesome travellers who have joined us over the past few months to help us in a number of ways. Some of the people who have stayed have specified particular interests and others just come and become part of this community.
