Environmental-friendly house cleaning practices. We burn incense periodically - typically cedar, sandalwood, sage, frankincense. TV is viewed infrequently in the main shared living areas. Responsible moderate to no alcohol. No smoking in house, no drugs at all. Primarily healthy meals- vegetarian, fish and meats are all okay.
It is very peaceful to stay here. There is plenty of space in this house that you may not know we are here and vice versa. Friendly and helpful, we are happy to help you with information and ideas of what to explore and experience in the region. Paige is very familiar with this area and communities. We (Hugh and Paige) are the only other persons in the house and live in the "south-wing" of the house that has two rooms with a private bath. (Please see our profile for more info on us.)
We have a number of four-legged companions: two 3 1/2 year-old border collie sibling dogs, a one year old lab-pitbull mix pup and two cats. All are friendly and well-trained. They greet us all at the door. Dogs stay downstairs but the cats can fit through the upstairs gate. Your master bedroom and bathrooms upstairs have doors that can keep the cats out.
This is an absolutely wonderful space to transition to Portland or live here for just a couple days or a week or two. Rates are listed per day, week and month.
Very well-behaved, clean pets and responsible owners are most welcome and are to be negotiated. There have been dogs happily living here with a fenced-in back-yard.
When people walk in the house, they breathe out a sigh of relief to be in a comfortable and balanced home. They enjoy the cultural art and photography as well as the tasteful and comfortable decor.
Please contact Paige with interest and she can answer any questions you may have. We are willing to consider special requests in order to make your stay work well for you.
We look forward to meeting you!
Paige and Hugh
Shadow, Spirit, Springer (friendly medium and large size dogs)
Star and Scarab (short-haired cats)
Guests are given a key that can open the front and back doors to house.
In the house, we share the large modern kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry area, and also the backyard. There is free street parking.
The only area off-limits are the "south-wing" of the house: two bedrooms and a bathroom as well as the basement and garage.
We are two adults in our mid-forties with two well-trained, calm, young boarder collie-german shepard mix dogs, a happy rescued pitbull mix pup and two short-haired cats. We all live here full time. We will be happy to visit in the kitchen or backyard over coffee or tea periodically. We like to provide a space where people feel comfortable relaxing upstairs, visiting with us or coming and going as they wish. It is so nice when guests feel comfortable as if they live here with us.
Pets in household: We have two young friendly and sometimes shy 3year-old dogs: Shadow and Spirit. They are siblings and Border Collie/Shepard Mix. And, Hugh rescued a young pup off the highway. So, we have a very happy and friendly young 1 year old pitbull mix dog too. His name is Springer. The dogs stay downstairs, not in the guest space upstairs. There are two cats in the house too- Star and Scarab. They roam as they are comfortable and can fit through gate at top of stairs.
Incense: It is probably also important to know that cedar and sage are burned periodically. Sometimes, tobacco is smoked outside for ceremony or prayer.
• Check-in time is 4PM (May be flexible)

Hello! Providing a friendly, inspirational and peaceful environment to guests is something I truly enjoy. I have been sharing my home with housemates and guests since 2004 and get great feedback. AirBnB is a new site for me to use this summer.
I am a friendly, active, happy woman in mid-40s. While raised near Boston, MA, I have lived in New York and San Francisco and traveled a little to Europe, Asia and Middle East, India and Northern Africa. Happy to share and trade travel or life stories over a cup of tea or coffee.
My career is in sustainable community economic development and creative strategy consulting and projects. I also study healing practices and spirituality.
I enjoy healthy lifestyle with good exercise like yoga, gym, hiking and good vegetarian and organic meats. I am living alcohol-free and enjoying its benefits. This happened as a result of traveling to other countries where there is less focus on alcohol as part of the social life. This may not be everyone's choice which is okay!
My boyfriend is Hugh who is also in his mid-forties. Born in the Native Alaskan Inupiaq Tribe, he is a carver, woodworker, builder and medicinal plant teacher.
We are naturally hospitable, diplomatic, open-minded and respectful of others opinions.
Pets: The household four-leggeds are:
- Shadow and Spirit, two young boarder collie-german shepard dogs (brother and sister). They are both well-trained and calm.
- Star and Scarab- two independent and friendly cats
We all look forward to meeting you and providing a happy home base for you during your time in Portland.
