This spacious suite is beautiful, peaceful, & wooded with separate entrance, patio, wifi, full kitchen, bathroom (modest shower), comfy queen bed sleeper couch.
Local points of interest: Walkway over the Hudson, FDR Home & Library (Hyde Park, 14 mi.away), Culinary Institute (w/restaurant), Vassar College, Highland Landing Park (along Hudson), Old Kingston (original site of NYS Capital), SUNY New Paltz, Antique stores of New Paltz, Huguenot Village, Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Mtn House.
We're unique because we live in a rural setting, yet close to everything - Mohonk, apple orchards, vineyards, 5 colleges, The Walkway Over the Hudson, etc. We also are 10 minutes from the train to NYC.
*If you come from NYC by train - we offer pickup roundtrip for $10 (please make sure you ask if you need this.)
The apartment is naturally cool all summer long because of the stone masonry walls that line it. You have a totally separate entrance and can come and go at your leisure. Yet if you need anything we are right up the stairs.
-- *Information for super sensitive folks - The suite is the downstairs of our house - we have an air circulator, purifier and dehumidifier activated, and the air is good. Please consult with us if you still have concerns.
1. When you come we will greet you, hand you the key, chat for a bit, give you "the tour" and then leave you alone. We can advise on fun places in the area. Mark is a local reporter so he knows everything going in surrounding towns.
2. Everything you need is in the Suite and you will be totally independent. We have had some folks ask us to "have tea" with them and we love occasionally spending a couple hours chatting or walking the rail trail with guests. We will not initiate this, as many have their own agenda while here. But if you would like to do this, please ask, then we can see what both our schedules are, to plan a time to meet.
3. During your stay, we are always ready to help. The best way to reach us, with any concerns or needs, is to text to one of our phones - Mark (the night bird) and Kit (the early bird).
There is a folder in the apartment with brochures of local businesses, restaurants, sights to see and emergency info.

I am a retired Music Teacher from the Arlington Central School District. I play violin (and fiddle sometimes), and the Celtic harp. My husband and I performed together for 25 years as we raised our two daughters. He is a reporter for our local newspaper.
We don't drink, don't smoke, and love healthy foods and of course lots of music!
