I live in London (South West area, Teddington) and work as a translator/ interpreter, as well as a tour-guide (!).
Therefore, coming to London, you can not only obtain a lovely cosy accommodation with me, but your own certified tour-guide!
You are welcome to stay in my 1 year old flat, where you can have a nice cosy bedroom with a double bed, and I am sure it will not be a tough task to share the bathroom and the kitchen.
The flat is a 7 minutes walking distance from a train station to the central London (30-35' journey) and a short bus ride from Hampton Court, - the famous palace of Henry VIII (the one with 6 wives!).
Or you can just walk across the picturesque Bushy Park, which used to be Henry VIII hunting ground (according to the British tradition, the deer continue to live in the park and you can take amazing photos of them grazing peacefully among the trees) and enter Hampton Court through its reknowned gardens with a maze...
Just a short stroll away there is a parade of restaurants and 2 supermarkets. And about half hour on a bus will bring you to one of the best shopping centres in Britain - Bentall's Centre in Kingston. Kingston is full of character, with a string of cafes and eateries along the river Thames.
On the other side of Thames from Teddington there is a posh little town of Richmond, - great for an evening of entertainment at an old theatre and numerous restaurants, pubs and wine bars.
