Come enjoy this spacious, sunny and very pretty studio surrounded by lovely natural gardens and a deep green forest with beautiful Lake Michigan just across the road. The studio has a high cathedral ceiling and two walls of all windows. It's very comfy and quiet. There is a full kitchen and a small supermarket is nearby. Restaurants are a short drive away. Excellent hiking and biking abound. Centrally located to all Door County's varied activities and natural beauty. Dreamy!
Cathedral ceilings and room-size windows open to a forest and pretty gardens all around you. Walk the short path to Lake Michigan and have your coffee on the bench there at sunrise. This is the "Quiet Side" of the peninsula, popular with hikers and bicyclists, and nature lovers. You will see deer, foxes, birds and enjoy nature to the fullest. There is a big backyard with a picnic table and barbecue for your use. Behind you is 1000 protected acres of Shivering Sands State Natural Area.
The studio has one queen-size bed. I can also provide a comfortable single mattress made up for a third person on the oriental rug.
Glidden Drive is the Eastern Shore of the Door Peninsula and one of the most desirable parts of the county: private, quiet, scenic. Woods and water, stone shores and sandy beaches are nearby.
You have your own cozy home with a private entrance and separate heating. It shares a roof with my house but you probably won't notice. Parking is on the driveway.
If you choose, I'm always available to give information about Door County sites, hikes, activities, restaurants, destinations and the like. I'm a foodie, so love to share the food renaissance that is going on here now. If you'd rather be left alone, that's fine too!
There is no broadcast TV but the television has a DVD player and a big collection of good films. There is a full kitchen with a dishwasher. Few homes have air conditioning here because of our well known "Cooler by the Lake," however I do have both fans and air conditioning for the rare days when it's very warm or humid. We are generally 10 degrees cooler here than on the Green Bay side of the peninsula. There is a laundromat nearby.
No smoking, please.
I moved to Door County 17 years ago, from San Francisco, and never looked back! I love the comfy, small-town feel of Door County but also love the access to theater, good restaurants, hiking and biking and lots of interesting people. I love to read and write, hike, go to movies and live theater. I'm a part-time teacher and counselor.
