Miriam is a friendly, accommodating, and interesting host. She speaks several languages and has traveled to many parts of the world, making her an engaging person with whom to converse. Her friends are equally interesting and very warm. I greatly enjoyed meeting them. In terms of the apartment, its best aspect is its location. The apartment is well-situated on a beautiful street in Providencia close to a metro stop, bus lines, and lots of shops and restaurants. The room itself is very small, only fitting a twin bed and night stand. However, because of the great view of the city skyline and mountains, I didn’t feel confined. Also, because the room’s big window faces north, it receives a lot of light. (Remember that Chile is in the southern hemisphere!) The one negative was that when I arrived the apartment was not only messy but very dirty, especially the bathroom, because Miriam did not have time to clean between guests. (By request I arrived a day earlier than originally planned.) When I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with the level of cleanliness, Miriam right away apologized and hired someone to clean the apartment that same day, which I appreciated. While the apartment’s common living area and kitchen were quickly dirty again because of a lack of basic housekeeping, at least I had my own bedroom and bathroom that I could keep clean. All in all, if you’re looking for a small room in a great location with a friendly host, and you’re not real picky about the apartment’s level of cleanliness, I recommend this accommodation.
