Laurie is such a liar, to start. Laurie came to my home already drunk and the 1st thing she asked the other guest that came with her was to fix her a cocktail, which I have no problem with but when causes you to be untruthful towards me, that's where I draw the line. My entire home is always clean, (take a look at my other reviews) including the areas that the airbnb guest use. My profile has not changed since I've started hosting so what my profile has on it is true. I suggest for Laurie read profiles thoroughly. My profile also states that I will be present in the home (I live there also) while guest(s) are there and Laurie could've easily texted me her concerns just as she did while traveling to my home but she did not. The temperature is adjustable and had Laurie communicated, it would have been adjusted, again Laurie could've communicate just as she came to me and my husband stating that towels were needed but the towels were on the bed that she clearly passed up. Again, my profile does not list that coffee is offered but if Laurie had stated that it was a must have, I could've accommodated her. My profile also list that the bed is a double, full sized, meaning that it is suitable for 2 people, I don't believe a twin sized bed is suitable for 2 people; the bed has 2 standard pillows and 2 decorative pillows, a fitted sheet and a quilt to cover the bed. The room is large enough to fit a king sized bed in it, therefore, it is not small. The information listed on my profile is very easy to comprehend and again Laurie should have read it thoroughly and asked any questions prior to check in, just as other guests have done. I'm pretty sure that Laurie knew that the Sugarbowl was being held in NOLA that weekend and that hotel rates would be expensive however, she still chose to book my place with rates that were very underrated; she could've canceled the reservation prior to check in but again she chose not to. My rates were underrated for that timeframe and Laurie stated that I could've rebooked but she doesn't know that. Where Laurie crossed the line is when she became UNTRUTHFUL! I've sent the messages to airbnb to prove that I've replied to all of Laurie's texts prior to check in and communicated with her during her brief stay. If my place was what she described, why even check in? Just as easy as it was for Laurie to find other lodging once she checked out the next morning, I'm sure she could've found that same lodging once she decided that she wasn't going to stay at my place. I chose not to refund Laurie due to her being untruthful about me and my home. It's funny that Laurie stated to my husband and I prior to asking for a cocktail, that our home is nice throughout. Just a little note: I am also a guest in the airbnb world and I've slept on a twin sized sofa bed and some of my family slept on an air mattress and we did not complain because we had asked the appropriate questions and read the profile prior to booking. I will not tolerate any untruthful information about me or my home. Again, I suggest that Laurie read profiles thoroughly prior to booking. I will not recommend Laurie to other hosts, but it is their decision to have her as a guest.
