4rooms, 2 queen and 2 double, in a waterfront century home in the historic town of Tilting, on Fogo island
Tom's place is a quaint saltbox house right on the shore of the small bay in Tilting. The photos provided are exactly what is there! Tom is a friendly host, willing to prepare breakfast for the guests' timeframes. Use of the living-room and dining-room for relaxation and card-playing was very comfortable. Tom prepares a lovely breakfast and his home is very clean, quiet and safe. A lovely setting!
Beautiful house with interesting guests who were so fun to meet. Tom has a wonderful deck where everyone would congregate in the evenings. After getting to know each other, everyone was so courteous and I didn't even hear all of them leave the next morning. Tom is laid back and funny and I really enjoyed talking to him. Tilting is gorgeous, isolated and quiet. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and Apple maps don't lead you to the correct location. Hang a left at the church as you come into Tilting. The B&B will be on your right up the road. If I return to Fogo Island, and I hope I do, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
It was a pleasure to stay at Tom’s place in Tilting. Tom was very prompt and helpful in communicating with me when I was arranging the booking and then as we were travelling towards Fogo. He gave good advice about the ferry schedule both to and from the island. And staying at the Tilting B&B was a pleasant experience. I immediately felt comfortable with the style of the building, the informality, the charming view from the sitting room window of part of the harbour. Our room was comfortable. Because it’s an older house, the ceiling wasn’t too high. I’m six ft. tall and was fine standing straight upright, but just a warning to anyone taller than I that you’ll be conscious of the ceiling. Others have mentioned Tom’s breakfasts, especially the partridgeberry scones. I agree those scones merit their standout reviews. Tom was very informative about restaurants on the island as well as what’s happening locally with the arts scene. I learned a lot in a short time about Fogo and really enjoyed my stay. All in all, Tom’s is highly recommended.
